Brilliant.

The ad never mentions Apple or their products. Flashes the Apple logo four times for a total of 4 seconds. The rest, pure art.
Steve would like it.

In the end it's all about the money folks. That's what Apple wants from you, to please its shareholders. Nothing else matters. Capitalism and greed doesn't make a better world.

Yep. Even when an ad is good there is no illusion behind its purpose.

I dislike the song personally. Had no idea what it was and couldn't relate.

Anyone notice that Apple calls some their commercials "films" and some ads? Goes to show that they don't want people thinking that some of their advertising efforts are anything like what companies normally produce.

Try watching it again, I bet you can understand it.

Sappy or not, this is why Google or Samsung or Apple haters will never get Apple or the people who buy their products.

To others, it's all about specs.

Hang on sunshine, that's a sweeping statement. This commercial has nothing to do with specs. Care to explain why this commercial is so "apple" . Cause I'll be frank with you, it's a very unlike Apple commercial cause they are not pushing thier hardware.

Most Apple fans will not get this one. Aside from expecting grandma to pop on some beats they will be will be wondering why the song sounded so scratchy ....

Missed the Apple gift that grandma got for Xmas? Very selective vision you have there!!

Thumbs up. A very good commercial for Xmas .

That's exactly the point. It's not saying anything about the hardware, it's that apple helps us achieve more. If you have to break it down to connectors, apps, cpu power etc... then you'll never achieve something with as much heart as the girl achieved in the ad. You can do this was an opposition tablet and PC, but people don't because (stereotypically) they aren't as artistic.. (note I said stereotypically)

The problem with the Ad is, it's totally unrealistic of the real world.
Like many of Apple's (people using our devices) adverts, they are not realistic of real world scenarios.

As has been said before, the old lady would most probable never even think of touching that new fangled gizmo sitting on the table.
It and most of Apple's Adverts are very rose tinted, but utterly unrealistic

Apple films. I do like them touching the heart strings. Too bad others can't feel it. I do like this one as it relates to personal experiences. Nice job Apple.

Wow a company that sells things wants people to buy their products. I'm shocked.

My mother is 74 years old and uses her iPad mini every single day. Age has nothing to do with it. Good grief it's a commercial. Most commercials don't mimick real life 100%. How is that even newsworthy?

----------

Easy. Amazed that some folks do not get it.

Nah, it's just people willfully feigning ignorance so they can say the ad is bad. Just like last year after "misunderstood" aired and everyone was suddenly all concerned about young people being isolated from their families spending too much time on their phones as if this is some new phenomenon created by Apple and iPhone. I guess then when I remember my nephews spending hours in front of the TV (or computer) playing video games I must be remembering wrong.

Apple can take their Holiday Ad and...

..stick it up where the sun doesn't shine. They ruined my holidays! I live in Seoul and was anticipating to buy the iPhone 6 Plus for a decent price on the day of arrival in Japan. As I get there, the Apple Store salesperson (some staff are upright rude and uptight, despite that I speak Japanese) notifies me that Apple Japan, without giving any reason, has decided to block all sales of sim-free iPhone 6 and Plus THE DAY BEFORE I arrived, until further notice. FML and go sodomize yourself with a pineapple, Apple Japan. Of course Western media isn't even mentioning any of this. Apple can blame it all they want on the Yen inflation or Chinese buying up the stocks and flooding the gray market, I don't care. Apple has well enough margin to not sabotage people from buying a phone without beimg forced into some useless 24-month slave contract. Some people can actually do the math. I've owned a lot of Apple products but never been f**d over like this. If I still want the phone, I am welcome to return to Seoul and pay around 300 bucks more for the same phone, just like Apple wants us sheep to do. They probably also got a nice buck from Softbank (aka Yakuza Telecom) for blocking the sales. Now they can force travelling Japanese to pay up the roaming fees on their ****** sim-locked phones. Happy Holidays and go ****** yourself, Apple.

If you're that mad because you can't buy a damn phone, you need to seriously reevaluate your life. rofl

Happy Holidays to everyone, guys. I have a small OT but could you help me? Is there a way to make visual response on iPad keyboard as is it on the iPhone? To show which letters you are typing. Thank you adn have great day.

I think it was beautifully done.

I love the messages:
Respect your elders.
Honor your parents and grandparents.
Give of yourself.
Be kind.

I bet the grandma knows her granddaughter loves her.

Oh yeah, buy Apple products.

How unbelievably ageist of you... you don't know but she could have worked for NASA.

You know you are right!!!!! I never thought of it that way. I always thought Those M&M characters were real.

I'm sorry to hear that happened to you.

I can't do anything about it, but there may be a better way. Are the Seoul phones sim locked as well?

I would have to agree on that, haha. You're 100% right, but it feels good to let off some steam. It's just another item and not the end of the world, but I've been wanting to upgrade from my iPod Touch 5G since the 6/6+ were released and it's feels like bad luck when things don't go as planned. (Taking advantage of the Yen's state of value and get the phone as cheap as possible). Korea and Japan are quite near each other as you are aware of, so the huge price difference just feels out of place.

Ahem. Now can you please kindly go pick your toys back up and put them back in your pram. Grow up, and realise there is more to life than a phone. :D

Or to be more helpful, why don't you just get someone to but it elsewhere and ship it to you?

Thanks. Not yet, but with my streak of bad luck it might be blocked in Korea by the time I get back. Also, it's way more expensive there. The 64GB Plus will cost nearly the same as a MacBook Pro Retina does in Japan. Might as well just buy a Japan Rail Pass instead and travel around a while and still spend less than on a phone. I can pay the Korean premium price, but most people are likely to consider how much something is worth paying for.

I threw away all my toys when I escaped Sweden. I just want a shiny new one with 5.5" display without Apple complicating the purchase. Sure, I can have it shipped and get slammed with Korean tax. LOL or just bought it in Korea a month ago, instead of hoping to save a few bucks while going to Japan, unexpecting that they will stop selling it sim-free the day before arrival. That's pretty ill-fated.
Look, you wouldn't wanna pay 300 bucks more than the person standing next to you in line, which is basically the case, considering the distance between Korea and Japan. It's less than an hour's flight, man.

Well

Samsung better counter with some sarcastic celebrities and the "next big thing."
