So, some of you guys already have the new MBPs? I haven't been keeping up with this thread...but were they available today at Apple Stores?
I wish they made the 1900 x 1200 pixel resolution on the 17" MacBook Pro standard, not an option. Other than that, it looks like a good update to the MacBook Pros. Now, just the iMacs and a "true" Mac Pro update.

It would be very nice if you happen to have boot camp installed on that... to run Astra32 and tell us the make and model of the screens Apple used in that machine.
http://www.astra32.com/
Two possible problems...
1. No new Boot Camp Drivers for the new MBP.
2. No SATA drivers for the Windows XP installer (Well maybe Intel has some...)
It will work then. Notice I used XP instead of just Windows?windows xp??? im going to try and see what happens when i attempt to run Vista Ultimate 64-bit
Hi. I'm new on this forum and I'm from Spain so excuse for my bad english.
I have one important doubt. I have ordered the new MBP with Apple Care, with total cost of 2056 ( 2,780.41 USD ). This is the basic version with Santa Rosa 2'2 Ghz, 120 GB HD, and nVidia 8600M Gt 128.
I have also noticed that next MBP ( C2Duo 2'4, 160 GB HD and nVidia 8600M Gt 256 ) is 414 (559 USD) more than basic version.
I'm not interested on more HD, more speed but I would like to know if nVidia card 8600M GT 128 is a good card. If I'm going to be "enough" with 128 Mb.
I have to choose basic MBP with Apple Care or Medium MBP without Apple Care. What would you choose?
Gah, I wish there was an Apple Store close by! The nearest to me is a couple of hours away, in Nashville. I live in Kentucky, so even if I could have made the trip today, I wouldn't have. Tennessee has a ridiculous sales tax!

anyone can confirm this?I was wrong about the nano.. i still think you'd get leopard. I'm pretty sure student developers got tiger for free.
Damn!!! No blu-ray drive. or even option of blu-ray drive.
this is kinda lame. For apple to be HDTV backward is ridiculous at this point.
What the heck is going on over there?
also, it's time for a new case.
Is it possible to buy Apple Care during first year? I think in Spain is not possible.that was exactly my choices and I chose to go with the Medium one and since it comes with a one year warrenty I will be purchasing the Apple care later
I dont see why not... Call the Spain Apple store they can tell you on the phone . I know in the U.S. you can upgrade to apple care any time durring the first year... personally without calling i see no reason why you could not purchase applecare after the first purchase due to the fact that the one year still remainsIs it possible to buy Apple Care during first year? I think in Spain is not possible.
Sure can!

Just in the last five minutes they have fixed the pricing mistakes that were giving unexpected discounts.
no longer save $50 (instead of charging $100) for 1920x1200 17" screen
no longer save $50 (instead of charging $175 or $100) for 200GB hard drive
no longer save $150 for glossy 15" screen
Perhaps I should have struck while the iron was hot.
Well that just makes those that are waiting 4-6 weeks for the 7200rpm drive look even more stupid as the 5400RPM Fujitsu has kicked the ass off most 7200RPM drives on toms hardware
I'm pretty sure those were page glitches and not reflections of what you were actually going to pay. I messed around with the glossy screen thing and went to checkout, and it showed up correctly with the +150 charge.
Can someone please elaborate on this. Maybe links or other thoughts? Is it possible the 7200RPM is also an equally impressive Fujitsu (or do these not exist)?
Thanks..
