Very weird. My Mac Pro updated as I would have expected. However, my MacBook Air sent me through the whole OS X startup procedure. First asking me to login to iCloud, Find My Mac, Filevault etc etc.

Anyone else have this happen?

Yes - I haven't seen that one since a couple of the betas of mavericks last year. 6 'enter your exact same password' screens one after another. If I'd not seen that before I'd have assumed it was stuck asking for the same thing or I was typing it in incorrectly; since I had seen it before, I kept putting the same thing in until it stopped asking.

And then it told me a new MacBook Pro was being used for facetime. Err .. ok .. not really new there Apple.

See if it does the same idiocy on my Air.

You're using sarcasm on the wrong board friend.
If it was sarcasm, I would have marked it as such ... read my posts, when I believe Apple's done a good job I acknowledge them, likewise when their failing to perform up to their normal standards, I never shy away from saying so. I simply share my experience while understanding full well it may be different than others. It's as simple as that.

Another vote for Combo Update.

I wonder if they've finally fixed the bug which they've introduced in 10.10.3, which caused some of the systems with Intel 4000 graphics to get random kernel panics ( https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7000724 ). The only solution I've found was to disable the auto graphics switching in the power settings, so now the system is using the dedicated GPU instead of Intel's.

How do you disable auto graphics?
I am on a constant kernel panic for the last 2 years.

Just updated 3 Macs, 2 2015 MacBook Pro 13" retina and a 2011 27" iMac. Used the combo update. The updated went very well and took about 20 minutes total time. No issues. Everything runs great on all 3 computers.

Dangit. With every OS update I keep hoping my internal DVD superdrive will be restored to its glorious, functioning, pre-Mountain Lion status. Alas, this update does not do it. Same old thing: insert disc, hear a few chugs, then the disc is spit out.
I think Apple declared war on DVD drives because they could never get them to work properly. I have owned many Macs. All of them have had DVD drives. None of them have had DVD drives that work right. Since 2003.

I doubt it's an OS issue. Has to be hardware.

Installed on Macbook 12". Works fine. Safari is snappier..no really it is...no joke.

idk if this is a joke (even though you said "no joke") but it does seem snappier and more stable! I couldn't even get it to load webpages before I updated today.

weren't the patch sizes to be slipstreamed and smaller? That is a very large (point) update.

Got the same thing. If goto download Yosemite from machine then it say s10.10.4 already installed and starts to download a 10.10.4.

At least my mini is redownloading unlike laptop that stuck in this loop.

Same here. Combo update made the day. How hard is to make updates that update once.

I have the excact same problem same MacBook Pro late 2011 17 inch and it happened the same way too! Except mine does only boot one third with an apple logo (reading from start disk) and then it shows the no start disk sign!?
Just today I had the motherboard replaced on apples free gpu fault program and it was running fine for just a few hours before this update :(
Well... I did a full reinstall of Yosomite OTA before going to sleep - now everything is back to normal (pheeew) :)

My iMac was unable to rip CDs properly. Not all CDs. But sometimes songs would have glitches in them, and sometimes CD would just spin-spin-spin-spin and do nothing. Recently I bought a 10 euro DVD-R drive for my laptop and all the CDs with errors rip perfectly fine, and the ones that would spin-spin (CD-Rs with stickers) I managed to rip all tracks but the last two.

I'm not saying this means Apple can't make DVD drives work properly, but I'd expect the reverse results.

My 2009 Mac-Mini suffered a dead DVD drive recently. Good thing the drives are really cheap to replace.

These ****ing morons at Apple couldn't even fix a small bug in All My Files. And these suckers want to release a new OS every year.

10.10.5 Liked this - D/L last night just booted and it's noticeably snappier.

Apple today released OS X Yosemite 10.10.5, an under-the-hood update that introduces bug fixes, security enhancements, and performance improvements. OS X 10.10.5 is being released to the public after two developer betas and one month of testing.

The OS X 10.10.5 update can be downloaded through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store.

Today's update notably includes a fix for the DYLD_PRINT_TO_FILE privilege escalation vulnerability that could allow malware to gain root access to a Mac. Earlier this month, a DYLD_PRINT_TO_FILE exploit was found to be in use in the wild, so this is an update that all Mac users running Yosemite will want to install as soon as possible.OS X 10.10.5 is likely to be one of the last updates to OS X Yosemite, which will soon be retired in favor of its successor, OS X 10.11 El Capitan. Currently in testing, OS X El Capitan builds on the features introduced with Yosemite, focusing on improving performance and user experience.

Once OS X El Capitan is available for download, OS X Yosemite will see only minor maintenance updates designed to fix security flaws and other major bugs. OS X El Capitan is expected to be released to the public in the fall.

Update 10:33 AM: Fixes and improvements for Apple Music are available in a separate iTunes 12.2.2 update also available through Software Update in the Mac App Store.

Update 11:20 AM: Apple has also released Security Update 2015-006 for Mavericks and Mountain Lion users, as well as Safari 8.0.8 for Yosemite, 7.1.8 for Mavericks, and 6.2.8 for Mountain Lion.

Hey... I just tried to run this upgrade this morning and I'm getting some problems. Basically, my monitor is completely black now. The mac mini (mid2011) looks like it is running (fan is on) but nothing is on the screen for about 20 minutes. I tried turning off and back on, but nothing happened (no ding, no screen, nothing). Anyone else see this? Ideas???

Doing some more research... nothing I plug into my monitor (Thunderbolt Display) USB ports is getting power... this is really weird. Everything was working perfectly until I did the upgrade.
