not even touching this update... things work for me and there is nothing really new i need from it. apple updates don't 'just work' anymore and i been bitten by this too many times to care anymore.
With you. My iMac updated fine, BUT my MBP - well, now restoring from Time Machine. That says it all
Sadly, Apple cares only about the kids & the bling, & do not put the care into their updates they once did.
There was a time, pre-iPhone, you did not even give a second thought to updating.
Sad

Thought issues with "wifi disconnecting after sleep" will get resolved with this update. But no luck. Anybody having a resolution for this issue?

I haven't had a chance to test it but FFS I hope so. WOL won't work and thus Back to My Mac, if it's disconnecting. I've set the MBP to never sleep in the meantime.

UPDATE: It still disconnects from WiFi on sleep. Back to never sleep.

I'm hoping Spotlight works a little better. I've often tried launching apps only to get a blank search result. I've rebuilt the index multiple times, but it still occurs from time to time. Strange...
My spotlight seems to be back in action. It was laggy/unusable in the betas that I was running. Nothing came up. Almost instant now.

Another fix that I have noticed seems to be that my external HDD no longer says that it was ejected at random anymore, keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way. ;)

In all, good release.

Can anyone confirm whether disabling SIP after updating works for them? Just tried and it doesn't seem to have worked??

I lied, the drive appears to be ejecting by itself still. :(

I have until recently had an open bug with Apple from October 2014 that causes the computer to freeze when using the built-in VNC (from the Finder) and various video processes at the same time (whether it's video in Safari, using iMovie, or sometimes just the animation of scrolling a document). It's been present since the first release of Yosemite and is still present to this day. The bug was finally closed as a duplicate of another bug. It wasn't fixed--the bug was just closed.

So basically I can't use the built-in VNC without my computer freezing, and it's been that way more or less since October 2014. No Flash installed. Multiple re-installs. Had the computer sent in for repair and parts were fixed that weren't related to the issue.

I can't count how many sys diagnose files I've sent to developer support. It's been over a year, and they acknowledge it's a real problem but just don't ever fix it.

I've been using OS X since the Public Beta in 2000, and I can say that its bugginess has increased in negative correlation with its price. Back when you paid $129 for it, it worked well. Even the public beta cost $29.95, and while it was incredibly, incredibly slow, it never froze.

I have to restart for freezes now 2-3x per day.

EDIT: To be clear, this bug started in Yosemite (10.10.0) and is present still in 10.11.1. I'm not taking any chances on 10.11.2 yet. I was so hopeful after so many reports I sent in that this would have been fixed in El Capitan. At this point, I don't think OS X will ever get the attention it needs.

-Fixes an issue that may cause Bluetooth devices to disconnect
Ha...ha...ha...

This one line is hilarious to me right now.
Before the update, my Apple wireless mouse would maybe disconnect once or twice during a day.

After the update, I've had five disconnects in the last hour alone.

that's not true. public beta and a couple versions after that had kernel panics.

Dear heavens..... well I was really hoping this would fix my issue, but it didn't... may end up clean installing OS X anyways.... I have this issue on my rMBP where every time I come back from sleep it claims to be connected to my Network, but really isn't. I have to turn off WiFi and turn on every time I come back from sleep. Even wrote a script to do it because it's not worth my time....

My memory's not great, granted. My general recollection is of it being really, really slow and missing a lot of features. I don't even think we got DVD playback till 10.1 or 10.2. Random freezing had been an issue in System 7 through OS 9 (the bomb icon that would show up saying you had to restart). I'm not saying it early OS X versions didn't freeze or have kernel panics. I don't remember it--but there's a lot I don't remember. But I've never had any Mac OS freeze as often as Yosemite and El Capitan have when using the built-in VNC.

Handoff STILL doesn't work worth a damn....or at all! No issues with continuity though.

I wonder if it fixes the freezing issue when watching full screen YouTube videos... None of the 10.11.2 betas helped.
My 2013 Air can freeze when quitting. I suspect it happens when i pause a video and then closes that tab but the issue is so rare im not sure.

so anyone tested usb or flash drives yet in all the usb ports for proper operation? I'm afraid to try this yet after all the troubles prior.
Nope USB ports still not working.......I think I'll wait until 10.11.6 at this rate.
Also, anyone using SheepShaver?; and does it work on El Cap.?

No fix for universal USB audio. Zoom R16 is still out of service. Was told by Zoom support that a fix would be delivered in early December, and was secretly hoping this was it. No dice. I'm optimistic Zoom will have a driver out before the 15th.
