17.4mb on my 2011 MacBook Pro!? Has there ever been a OS X release this tiny?
Likely more of an emergency update than a full proper point release to put out the worst fires - i.e., a good number of people were really put up a creek.....

...given how much Lion changes the interface and plumbing, and given all the work ISV's have yet to finish on existing and upcoming releases... ...you know - pioneers, arrows, backs - that whole deal.... ...I'm expecting to wait 'til at least .3 to make my move and expect Lion really won't be the smoothly purring king of beasts until somewhere around 10.7.5.

App Store for what?

So, are system updates still going to come through Software Update and not through the Mac App Store update page?

It seems that the Mac App Store is for 3rd party apps to pay Apple 30% for whatever service they really are supplying.

Ugh....still have to manually re-connect to my wifi network everytime my MBP wakes from sleep. It's hardly the end of the world, but annoying nonetheless.

Would any of the MBA (2011 summer) users say whether they are having problems with wifi connectivity. I am planning to buy a MBA in a few weeks, but I don't want to buy a machine that can't connect to wifi routers!

So I'd be really grateful if someone said wifi is working or not now.

I installed 10.7.1 on my brand new 2011 MBA and while I was typing this post, Wi-Fi dropped 2 times.

I had a problem with Safari becoming unresponsive even when NOT playing a video. I hope this update will fix that.
Lately, Safari has not been working properly, specially when having several pages opened.
Since I started using GlimmerBlocker to avoid those pesky Flash Ads, Safari has been better, but not good enough. Anyone else having similar issues?
Any difference with this new update?

MY most annoying "non-fix"...

When you are in Safari full-screen and open a new tab (only happens when it is your FIRST new tab opened) the curser leaves the address bar which leaves you having to press tab once or clicking with your mouse. Big deal? No, but still annoying. Every other opened tab (2,3,4,...) puts the curser in the address bar where it should be.

Its nice to see an update. It fixed the audio bug where you cannot adjust your sound on the speakers after using headphones on my 2011 MBP which is great! Also, another bug they fixed but did not mention is that when you :apple: + tab to change to an application that resides on another desktop, it now brings that application's windows to the front as it didn't in the initial Lion release. There's still some stuff I'd like to see fixed of course, but as will all technology, its a tradeoff between annoying bugs and getting the greatest and latest releases. :) I can't wait for a the next few point releases. Things should be pretty polished then.

Try a multi button pointing device

Properly in your eyes. I have always found cmd-tab close to useless as it was totally unpredictable where the application I was looking for was in the list. I usually switch from app to app by cmd-h and then clicking on the Dock. Thus switching between a couple of applications would be greatly helped if the just-hidden applications would not be shoved to some further down the list.

But surely, whenever you change something there will be losers and winners and the winners will not complain only the losers. Thus change as little as possible to reduce the number of complainers.

I've used a Kensington trackball since the late 1980's. When they went to a 4 button trackball I've used one of the 4 to display the open applications. Thus I have always wondered how others have to do it. I'll just keep doing it my old way. I usually have 10 or so apps opened so the keyboard way seems to be a poor way as you say. There always seems to be so much stuff in my dock that I have it show only when I will use it. At least the icons I go to stay in the same place. I'd probably go to non dock use if my icons kept moving.

I find it funny that my 2007 C2D macbook w. 950graphic card has not had any problems w/ either .0 or .1 everything works properly so far. Fingers crossed that keeps being that way

Safari Private Browsing

I updated and was dissapointed to see Safari Private Browsing still doesn't work. Anyone notice that when you turn on private browsing it still stores the pages in the history even at next start up. Its as if you didn't even turn it on.

STILL NO SOUND, works in snow lep, not in Lion

Are you using the digital out and having trouble with DTS/AC3 passthrough? If so, I am having the same issue. As a work around I am sending everything down mixed to stereo (still through the optical out). This same bug was in 10.6.7 and was fixed in 10.6.8. Lion is still not working right. It is disappointing to not have surround from my HTPC.

iChat & FaceTime

That's been the single most flakey app for me.

It started with iChat & has been carried over to FaceTime, the video from my camera is displayed as the mirror image rather than as it really is. This makes all text backwards. Try Skype. Maybe it will fix your problem as it has done with not showing the mirror image with my camera.

Well, I hadn't noticed any show-stopping problems with my clean install of Lion, but 10.7.1 doesn't appear to have made any difference to the few minor issues I had noticed...

- Mac App Store still runs like ****.
- Weather widget still wanders randomly around the dashboard between restarts (since Leopard, I believe).
- Finder still won't remember my view options between restarts when in "All My Files" view.

And is it just me, but does text in Expose windows now seem slightly blurred?

Steve.

I didn't realize that was a problem with Lion! It's been driving me crazy

I'm on a 2011 MPB 15" and all the update's really done for me (being a Chrome user so Safari stuff wasn't an issue) is making everything a little bit snappier.

Also - not experienced any issues with switching graphics cards...

+1
I thought it might have been a placebo effect, but so many people have now mentioned this about the 2011MBP 15" being snappier, I also totally agree.
My 2010 MacMini on the other hand still has slow gfx/video. This was the case with SL and is also the case on a clean install of Lion, now with 10.7.1
The nVidia chip in the MacMini 2010 sucks.

I installed 10.7.1 on my brand new 2011 MBA and while I was typing this post, Wi-Fi dropped 2 times.

What make and model wireless router do you have, and what firmware version is it on?

Holy carp Lion claimed 2 gigs of ram usage right on startup after update, no apps running. That's messed up.. athough I have 8 gigs thank Crucial.

Rebooted twice to see if it was just finishing the update.. nope, 2 gigs ram claimed on startup by Lion.

Try Internet Explorer then

Safari is still a bag of crap...

Try another browser like FireFox or Chrome. Actually MS did the Mac Users a favor when they canceled Internet Explorer for the Mac. No wonder I'm not having any Safari problems. I haven't used it in 99% of my Mac OS 10.7 testing because of reports like yours. If & when they fix these problems I'll start using it again as my 3rd browser.

10.7.1 update did not fix the issue where the speaker icon on the menu bar randomly grays itself out on my MBP 13 2011 model.

For those looking for a workaround, check my solution at the following link. It will work consistently until Apple addresses this specific issue with an official fix.
