I thought it might have been a placebo effect, but so many people have now mentioned this about the 2011MBP 15" being snappier, I also totally agree.
My 2010 MacMini on the other hand still has slow gfx/video. This was the case with SL and is also the case on a clean install of Lion, now with 10.7.1
The nVidia chip in the MacMini 2010 sucks.

I have an early 09 mac mini and it has a nVidia graphics. I never had a problem with it till Lion. Now things are slow I think they could easily fix this with a nVidia firmware update or updated driver. It's far more than capable of doing these minor things smoothly. Of course they like to make us suffer if we aren't using the newest of the newest. I find it ridiculous that the early 09 machine isn't supported for "airdrop". Makes no sense.

WiFi NOT fixed in Lion 10.7.1

Thank goodness for the WIFI update I have about 12 Lion machines that I was about the throw out the window because of **** connectivity issues which defy logic. I was about to wipe them and go back to SL tomorrow

Hope this works:D

Doesn't work for me. In 10.7 WiFi was problematic. With 10.7.1 I can't even get a password accepted! Connecting to the same Airport with another machine running 10.6.8 continues to work perfectly.

That is an effing hungry kernel task. I checked activity monitor it only shows 500MB but nothing else is running.. 1GB wired and 822MB active, 200MB inactive. Simple re-boot.:eek:

Hmmm...

Tested waking up MBP with ATV2. At first, I couldn't connect, but rather than mess with the computer, I just turned off home sharing on the ATV then turned it back on. That worked. So, not sure if that's a Lion thing or an ATV thing.

Two (minor) bugs still not fixed:

- In iTunes, when in Full Screen mode, the View menu option still says "Enter Full Screen" when it should say "Exit Full Screen". Selecting "Enter Full Screen" exits full screen mode (as does clicking the double arrows in the upper right corner).

- When calling up the Dashboard by clicking its icon in the Dock, you cannot exit the Dashboard by clicking outside the widgets, which is the way it worked pre-Lion. You have to move the cursor to where the Dock is supposed to be, wait an inordinately long time for the Dock to appear (I have to try several times), and then click the Dashboard icon again to make the Dashboard disappear. A 3-finger swipe to the left also works.

I can click outside the widgets and it seems to be working fine. Do you have the Dashboard show as a space? If you do and click the Dashboard button and trying clicking around the widgets it won't take you out of Dashboard. Maybe that's what's happening since I don't have it as a space.
anybody else gain disk space from the update? Think I got about 4gb back on my MBA, might just be because I closed all my windows down.

Haven't noticed any gains on my MBA

I completely agree. If you load bootcamp with Windows on the same hardware, the 2010 MacMini plays 1080p video smooth as butter, as is scrolling in Safari or Firefox.

100% a driver issue and Apple need to address it. This is not good enough and they cannot regard 2010 hardware as not worth the trouble.

Exposé still useless for me

Exposé shows ONLY the active window whenever I activate it. There's no point using Exposé if it only shows me what I'm already looking at and hides everything else behind it!

Wifi - aaarggg...

I currently have 5 macs in my household... ;)

Two white MacBooks, iPad2, and brand spanking new iMac 27" i7 and a Macbook Air. All solid connections using the latest Netgear WNDR4000 N-router except... -> the Air running Lion.

The wifi issues on this Air is driving me bonkers. It drops, it doesn't connect, it drops off again, and every now and then I get "a connection timeout has occurred."

I got so frustrated with this tonight as I was fully expecting 10.7.1 to fix this cr@p to no avail, I called Apple and began a return process on the air... Maybe tomorrow we get 10.7.2? ;)

Wifi issue not fixed. In fact, I cannot connect to wifi at work at all since the update.

No other noticeable improvements/downgrades in performance.

Net effect is my computer is less functional. Booooooo :(

2010 MBA.

Update Sucks

Still hasn't fixed my Preview or Textedit. Or the fact that I can no longer sync my iPhone.

Every fix on the internet doesn't help either...

CrApple.

Neither of these bugs exist on my MacBook. iTunes shows "Exit Full Screen" in the menu while it is running full screen. I also cannot reproduce your Dashboard behaviour. I can click anywhere outside of a widget and Dashboard disappears.

I have the same router, and whilst it is an excellent three stream router, and well suited to new Apple wifi hardware, it is very new on the market and needs a firmware update or two to iron out some bugs.
I went from a WNDR3700 to the 4000 and this introduced a few sporadic issues with my iDevices. MBP has been solid though, with very fast file transfers to my WHS over wireless.

Keep an eye on this page:

If other readers are wondering which router to buy for their new Mac hardware, you cannot go wrong with this router. The Airport Extreme is also very good, but it limits which subnet you can use and does not allow you to disable DHCP. Not cool.

lucky guy? haha

Hahaha maybe i'm very lucky but i haven't had any of those problems so far. not running slow or hot at all, no black screen and no problem with video stream, some people say office stops working after update to lion, mine works just fine, hahah i guess i;m blessed. i have a 2010 13" MBP

Whatever the size of the update is in the original post, its wrong. I downloaded the update on my MBA 13" i7 256GB 2011 model, and the update was 54MB, not 17MB.

The update fixed the bug of my MBP forgetting my keyboard backlight settings each time I either logged out and back in; or powered down/back up.

Since the update, my bettertouchtool gesture settings do not work after waking the computer or powering it on, until I open the app for bettertouchtool -- whereupon everything works.

before the update i was having no issues with wi-fi. now every time i wake my 2011 MBP from sleep, i have to turn the wi-fi off and turn it on again.

my only real issue, which is that the backlit keyboard only turns on or off manually, is still unchanged.

this was more like 10.7 - .1

Well do something like report it via the Apple Bug Reporter page (no payment required) - http://bugreport.apple.com and yes its legit.

Yay!!

Ok, I've confirmed it - my MBP wakes from sleep and is immediately connected! Problem solved!
