+1. Lion runs very hot compared to SL. Pretty unhappy about that.

I'm about to install the update now. I hope it fixes this as well. I've found that the Finder process will occasionally run away and eat up an increasing amount of CPU. Fortunately, going to the terminal and running "killall Finder" forces it to reset Finder. However, it never did that with Snow Leopard...

So, are system updates still going to come through Software Update and not through the Mac App Store update page?

Software Update. With that said, it was a fairly painless update thanks to being Delta. Total download + install time on my 2011 MBA was about 3 minutes.

MacBook 2010 freeze

careful updating on a macbook 2010, mine did the grey wheel for 10 minutes then froze. when i turned it off and on again it did some funny things, seems to have updated ok though............?

That is FANTASTIC news. The easiest way to reproduce the crash for me was to go to the 2nd tab of effects in Photo Booth. Will be heading home soon to download the update and confirm :)

I'm here, no crashes :D

Not for me... it's actually a couple of degrees cooler. Even while handbraking.

I really haven't had any issues at all, except for the wifi thing when it wakes up.

Urgh.. the hiding applications bug is still there! Hide an application, and press CMD+TAB. It still shows up as the most recently accessed. Whole point in hiding the application is to clear it out the way from work flow without quitting it.

Every previous version of OS X has done this properly.
Properly in your eyes. I have always found cmd-tab close to useless as it was totally unpredictable where the application I was looking for was in the list. I usually switch from app to app by cmd-h and then clicking on the Dock. Thus switching between a couple of applications would be greatly helped if the just-hidden applications would not be shoved to some further down the list.

But surely, whenever you change something there will be losers and winners and the winners will not complain only the losers. Thus change as little as possible to reduce the number of complainers.

[*]Time Machine often claims that it "cannot find the backup disc" despite the Time Capsule being online and accessible via Finder.
[/LIST]

Same here, but this also happened with Snow Leopard. Sometimes it doesn't even show in the Finder, but usually it does. I hope they fix this. It's annoying to see a Time Machine icon in the upper right with an exclamation point all the time.

For those who still have problems in Lion, please go to this page:

http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html

Apple actually pays attention to the feedback and bug reports. When more people complain of a certain problem, the priority can be elevated. I'm not saying don't complain about it on the forums, but this is a more direct way of letting them know and possibly getting your particular problem fixed/noticed.

Doesn't fix discrete audio output with VLC

This is definitely not a fix, but have you tried out the app called Movist ? It has some nifty features that aren't present in VLC and I love using it. Works perfectly on Lion too.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; sv-se) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

My cpu temp has dropped 10 degrees now at 48 on mpb 2011 ssd. Hoping for better battery life. Everything feels faster too.

Well, I hadn't noticed any show-stopping problems with my clean install of Lion, but 10.7.1 doesn't appear to have made any difference to the few minor issues I had noticed...

- Mac App Store still runs like ****.
- Weather widget still wanders randomly around the dashboard between restarts (since Leopard, I believe).
- Finder still won't remember my view options between restarts when in "All My Files" view.

And is it just me, but does text in Expose windows now seem slightly blurred?

Steve.
