Damn, I installed the 10.7.2 dev build and don't know how to install this now. It doesn't show up in software update, what am I supposed to do?

Use the 10.7.2 reversioner, restart, scan for updates.

Had no problems with 10.7.0 - still no problems with 10.7.1 . I'm pretty happy. :D

Haha, I just rolled my laptop back to Snow Leopard after frustration with some of these problems! However there are still other issues that aren't addressed.

I think all of our computers will be staying on Snow Leopard for the foreseeable future.

Agreed. I went back to Snow Leopard after experiencing several bugs in Lion. Going by the list of changes in 10.7.1 none of the bugs I had were addressed so I'm sticking with Snow Leopard for the foreseeable future as well.

RE : Combo Updates.

Combo Updates are updates that are for all previous builds of a major build.

Example.

Combo update for 10.6.5 can be installed on any version of 10.6 up to 10.6.3,10.6.4 and 10.6.5.

Combo updates for OS 10.6.8 can be installed on system that run OS 10.6.1,10.6.2,10.6.3,10.6.4 and 10.6.5

Since this is the first "Delta Update" for OS 10.7.0 ( there is no previous build of 10.7.0 ) there is no Combo Update.

When 10.7.2 comes out there "will" be a "Combo Update" for users running OS 10.7.0 and 10.7.1

No Combo Update exists because this image is currently forked.

Ok I definitely spoke too soon because black screen kernel panic is not resolved in this update. Everything back to crashing again.:mad::mad:

definitely would if it weren't for my wife who gets frusterated easily. So I'm worried about bugs and incompatibilites with 3rd party apps on our old (and definitely aging) 2007 whitebook.

Having upgraded, and then finally moving back to Snow Leopard, I can tell you these are valid concerns. Adobe CS4 apps have some specific issues - one example is with Photoshop's color picker. If you're not ready to upgrade your pro apps, moving to Lion would be a mistake. Also, A non-trivial number of the games I've got require Rosetta (I'll be curious to see if someone finds a way to get Rosetta on Lion at some point).

On a side note - I dislike Versions very much, and wish there was a way to disable it completely. Additionally, they really need to save state on that "remember open windows" checkbox on the restart dialog.

On a second side note - if you use full disk encryption, moving back to Snow Leopard is rather more painful (at least based on my experience). Removing the encryption works, but then you'll be told "OS X cannot be installed on this disk" when you try to install SL. Erasing/reformatting will work, but there'll be a part of the disk that'll then be inaccessible (Lion's hidden recovery partition stays intact, perhaps?)

Two (minor) bugs still not fixed:

- In iTunes, when in Full Screen mode, the View menu option still says "Enter Full Screen" when it should say "Exit Full Screen". Selecting "Enter Full Screen" exits full screen mode (as does clicking the double arrows in the upper right corner).

- When calling up the Dashboard by clicking its icon in the Dock, you cannot exit the Dashboard by clicking outside the widgets, which is the way it worked pre-Lion. You have to move the cursor to where the Dock is supposed to be, wait an inordinately long time for the Dock to appear (I have to try several times), and then click the Dashboard icon again to make the Dashboard disappear. A 3-finger swipe to the left also works.

After the update my 2011 Mac mini's CPU now runs at 55°C (131°F), opposed to 70°C (158°F) with 10.7.0, doing the same things. I'm not complaining :D

How do you do that, where is it? I had so many bugs when Lion came out that I foolishly downloaded the dev version hoping there'd be fixes but there weren't.

anybody else gain disk space from the update? Think I got about 4gb back on my MBA, might just be because I closed all my windows down.

Good there's an update... but this fixes exactly none of the issues I've been having (which boil down to needing to restart every few days as performance has been degrading over time).

The update has been out for a couple hours and you already *know* a problem which takes days to manifest hasn't been fixed. Amazing...

The display problem I was having wasn't listed as fixed, but somehow it magically disappeared with the update. Remember, Apple has never been one to list all their dirty laundry.

Agreed x3 - Where is the fix for broken USB Smartcards? Regular audio stops working (not HDMI) - what about that? Sleep/Wakeup issues? Staying on SL until 10.7.7 or something. Hopefully by then I will no longer have to use smart cards or Apple would have had time to fix all the crap.

Shame on you Apple - this is a terrible disaster - Vista at least worked even if it was slower.

I think Lion is Apple's Vista. This has been terrible on all my macs. I have to reboot every day. One Mac Pro has been ok, the rest, spinning beach balls on almost all apps, especially finder. Pathetic Apple!!!

I don't think this is a bug. You just misunderstand how the feature works. When the dashboard is in it's own space, it is just like any other full screen app. To go back to the way it was, there is a checkbox in the Mission Control preference pane.

To get to the dock when you are using the trackpad in a full screen app, you have to move the cursor to the dock location (by default, the bottom of the screen) and then make an additional swipe towards the edge screen. This prevents inadvertent access to the dock while using full screen apps.

Same here. Lion just bogged down my machines and made everything slower and more buggy. Back with Snow Leopard now.

I'm on a 2011 MPB 15" and all the update's really done for me (being a Chrome user so Safari stuff wasn't an issue) is making everything a little bit snappier.

Also - not experienced any issues with switching graphics cards...

I still got issues with Automatic Graphic Switching enabled, when i quit certain application my mouse pointer dissapears and the Macbook hangs!

Turning it off all works great...

AD is still broken

Also noticing the computer hangs at the Loginwindow without the mouse or KB being active for quite a long time (5 minutes or so.)

Still tons of issues. It appears this update just fixed minor things and things that effected people moving over from SL to Lion.

Yesterday I finally able to login using my AD credential, not sure what I did differently.

Had the same issue on my <1 yr old MBP with the standard SL->Lion upgrade. Went ahead and did a clean install and Lion has been flying. Now starting to enjoy the features and new gestures, Mission Control, etc that were bogged down with beach balls on my first install. Meanwhile have also fresh installed on my son's 5 year old white MacBook and Lion is behaving wonderfully there as well.

I'm sure there were 3rd party things that were part of my SL user folder or system that were at the root of the problem. I took the opportunity to prune my Applications folder and am really only adding Apps and extensions back that I really use or need...one by one...

I don't think I'd go that far. I have been disappointed that, unlike with 10.3.0 and 10.4.0, Apple's last several major .0 releases have had significant performance issues and/or outright problems. But they do seem to get them ironed out, and eventually the releases get to where they're quite solid. With Vista, Microsoft seemed to basically abandon it - they tried to get everyone's attention onto Windows 7 pretty early.

It's way too early to define Lion as a failure. However it's certainly not a particularly compelling update in my eyes. Really I was only after one feature - full disk encryption - but all the other bugs and annoyances ended up outweighing the benefit of that.

Yup! That does the trick. ;)

Just do it peeps!
