Installed dp4 and my Mac Pro 2008 can no longer boot it. Stuck on apple logo. Spinning progress indicator spins, then pauses, then spins again getting "darker" each time until it appears black and you can no longer tell its spinning at all. Just a warning...

Update: I was able to get it to boot by unplugging my oculus vr from the dvi port.

What I've noticed so far

Still broken:

- Quicklook won't play .gif anymore
- Dragging a tab out of finder leaves a mini ghost window
- iCloud Keychain displaying blank window after logging in (requiring force quit of sys prefs)
- Safari reloading web pages when going back

Also not fixed, bug related to com.apple.internetaccounts.

I don't think iOS 7 b4 will update without the dev site being up since people need to use Xcode 5 to test and develop their apps.
So do OS X developers! They release betas of OS X for the same reasons that they release iOS betas! So developers can ensure app compatibility!

The dev site is only needed to _deploy_ apps and app updates, and also to associate new testing hardware with our account and download pre-release software (fortunately they're using the app store for most stuff now).

Since nothing can be deployed yet for Mavericks or iOS 7 we can still continue working for the most part.

Well theres always the next DP build or Final build for iBooks

I don't see any reason why Apple should deploy iBooks as part of Mavericks at all. Perhaps it will be in the app store the day mavericks is launched. That's how they do it on iOS.

Developers don't need to test iBooks, there's no reason to do a public beta.

The finder browse folder function is now fixed. Apps like jpegmini and disk doctor would previously hang when attempting to pull up the finder to browse for a folder.

Interesting, it autoupdated Xcode dp3. Now with sparkles!

I don't see any reason why Apple should deploy iBooks as part of Mavericks at all. Perhaps it will simply be available as a free download from the app store on the day mavericks is launched. That's how they do it on iOS and it works fine.

Developers don't need to test iBooks, so no reason for there to be a public beta.

I always though it would just be released when Mavericks goes gold.

The fonts seem little more bold in the password dialog. System preferences looks the same.

I guess since I have no apps from the app store, I've never noticed. It is interesting how it autoupdated Xcode dp3 though when I've had previous versions with no autoupdate.

And theres a new feature OS X Mavericks comes with where it updates your apps for you but I think you had to select it to turn it out I think so thats probably why but I not sure

Have they fixed the issue with finder in list mode?

You can go into a folder, adjust the size of the name column for instance and move to another folder and then back to the earlier folder and the name column is back to the default small size.

Because I like beautiful looking apps, not just any app that shows text. And since I prefer beauty, I only have Apple devices.

You're blonde partner with the big fake knockers and lashes of fine apple lipstick coaxing the granny smith in her hand is beckoning you from the bar.. better go and say hi before another beauty catches her eye ;)

Mountain Lion needed 40 days from Dev Preview 4 to release.

something to think about.

I hope they take more time in getting this release "right," I haven't been impressed with the last two OS X releases. Apple should focus less on annual updates and more on polishing out system overhauls and features. It's not similar to iOS updates, which seems to be the leading OS for Apple systems, so there isn't a need to rush.

No and it won't until adobe releases an update. No version of mavericks will fix this.

+1 and to confirm that, it is still mentioned in the DP4 release notes that it won't work. I'm sure Adobe will put out a patch when, if not slightly before, Mavericks goes gold.
