Is it just me or is this beta MUCH more clearer on my rMBP than before? My screen pops like it never has and I have owned it since February. Maybe it is something with the settings or maybe they have done something different.

Heck, maybe it is just in my mind but I love this current beta and whatever it did to my computer.

I made the exact comment with last's DP release. I have 2 27" Cinema Displays with my Mac Pro5,1 and I noticed a difference in brightness, clarity and vibrancy. Perhaps it is related to Apple's improvements in OpenGL core support.

Differences

I noticed the following on my 15" rMBP:

- Maps finally sends directions to iPhone (didn't have the option before)
- My WiFi kept dropping consistently with certain hotspots but it has a solid connection now
- Everything is snappier :p

Still no dice for me on Send to iPhone. Did you have to set anything up?

Mines been working since DP3... didn't have to set anything up.

----------

There's something irritatingly different about Mission Control....

Don't see anything different with MC or Launchpad... am I missing something?

STILL can't access the dock while in full screen mode?! The only way to work around this is to open Launchpad and get to the dock from there... not so keen on that :/

It automatically blurs to your wallpaper, giving the folders a completely different look every time you change your wallpaper.

I like the visual touches like that in Mavericks.

Ah, I missed it, the linen in OS X and iOS is slowly being removed throughout the system, replacing it with blurred desktop imagery.

Adding a new Internet Account now has the new Outlook logo present in iOS 7, and the setup process has been slightly redesigned.

I don't see a send to iPhone option?

Why are you guys so eager about iBooks for OSX? You better buy books for Kindle, so you can read them at any device you want... you're not bound to Apple then.

And there's a kindle-app on the mac already, with sync and everything.

I agree, except that ibooks is a better reader on small devices and the iBooks Store a better experience.

Also, Apple only does one transaction per day for the books whereas I've had each book chosen as a transaction by Amazon. Others seem to get multiple books on one transaction.

Personally I am wary of both and prefer Baen Publishing but they only do fiction and mostly fantasy/scifi.

Release Notes

With the dev portal down, you'll find the release notes attached to Apple's availability notification e-mail.

I prefer iBooks. I would rather support the company who not only makes my computer but the OS and the software that runs on it. This is not to say I don't want 3rd party software because there are some great software titles out there but Kindle isn't one of them. Sometimes 3rd party developers that are also "competitors" tend to half-ass the Mac software (such as Amazon and Microsoft) to lessen my experience.

Is Mail playing nicely with Exchange Accounts on Mavericks? I can't stand MS Outlook and would like to use Mail again... But on ML :apple: Mail has been unusable with Exchange Accounts for me. Bummer.

Have they fixed the issue with finder in list mode?

You can go into a folder, adjust the size of the name column for instance and move to another folder and then back to the earlier folder and the name column is back to the default small size.

Adding to that, is there finally an auto-width option for column-view? You click on a folder in column view to display its contents and it should adjust the column-width to the longest file-name in the folder. No clicking/dragging/re-adjusting the stupid columns each time you go into a folder. One would think it's so obvious but since OS X's inception, this feature is still missing!

TotalFinder only recently added this and it works OK most of the time. Other times, it craps out and goes back to the default width for every column. Frustrating.

So yeah, if that finally was built into the Finder I would be much happier.

Where do you get these ebooks from Mac app store ?
