To everyone who is saying that they're getting the update in App Store showing as "Version 1.0," and that it's the same as DP2. It is NOT. I installed "Version 1.0" and my build number is not correct and I also don't have any of the changes noted in this thread. I can't seem to download DP2 any which way.

Just go to Apple Developer Forums there is a post under Mac Development which has a link to delta update which you can download via web browser and do the update via installer. This worked for me. I can't post the link here, sorry. You have to be registered dev to access the forums.

Developer Preview 2 on the dev portal is listed as Build 14A261i
I've installed the update from the App Store and it's reporting exactly the same build number, 14A261i

Not sure what's happened to you.

perhaps, though in the Apple Dev forums, it seems as though others are also having this issue. Attached is what mine looks like.

That's assuming that you can, or that it's practical.

My rig consists of a (beloved to the point of death) 17" MBP with 2 750GB spinners in RAID 0 (took out the optical drive). I'm not too sure that you can re-partition the RAID setup. I also have a Mid 2012, maxed-out iMac 27".

Regardless, if you're techie enough to create a secondary (or more) partition, then you have a spare drive lying around somewhere (I know, I'm assuming too).

This also introduces flexibility, as you can test out the release with different machines, and not have to do a damn thing to your existing, pristine systems. Just hold the Option key when booting and select your external.

Pretty simple stuff indeed.

First of all, it's not techie. Pretty simple GUI to repartition drives on the fly in OS X.

Second, booting from an external requires you to run via USB. That's likely USB2 for most people. I'd rather have the speed of the internal (or SSD, in my case). But hey, if the external works for you.

I'm just scratching my head at all of the people using Bootcamp for a second partition. It's not necessary. At all.

That command isn't right, it's

Code:
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences AppleInterfaceTheme Dark

Just looking for VMWare Fusion to work

betas arent really intended for general computing. id recommend running any needed VMs on something other than your beta build workstation.

in fact, youd be better off running 10.10 as a VM in Fusion off of 10.9...

it still won't work like that.

you need type "sudo su", hit enter, type password, hit enter.
then the above command works from the shell. I'am amazed at how ignorant people are writing those commands... If you are gonna post it, do it right without omitting anything.

btw, to revert back "Dark" replace with "Light"

Mark Zuckerberg wife: Priscilla Chan is coming to a Mac near you SOON! :D
