Wait, what? Windows (10).

Windows 95: Bad.
Windows 98: Good.
Windows ME: Bad.
Windows XP: Good.
Windows Vista: Bad.
Windows 7: Good.
Windows 8: Bad.
Windows 9: Good.
Windows 10: Bad.

Oh, no! They skipped the good version. And they say, 10 will be their »last« version of Windows.

You missed Windows 2000, which was "Good". Plus I wouldn't say 98 was "Good", either...

My IPhone 5 and iPad Air say that they are connected, but I am not getting any AirDrop ability. Was working previously. hmm

Edited: I get Failed to continue activity. The operation couldn't be completed (Cocoa error 4609)

Interesting points about the possibility of "3D" interfaces making a comeback one day. In my opinion, despite the fact that fashions do change, I think it would be difficult to start layering on unnecessary UI for the sheer fun of it and simply to make a distinction between brands.

My (virtual) money would be on true 3D monitors with everything being touch controlled. The whole environment would be 3D. Some might say Samsung have started down the path, with the Note Edge and it's side-aligned "extra" screen. Cursor control based on eye movement - that could really make things interesting.

Windows 2000 comes before XP, not ME, ME is based on Windows 9x, which is a completely different product, and before Windows 2000 comes Windows NT 4, and before that its Windows NT 3.51 your list is wrong.

SMS Relay now works (again) with Yosemite GM and iOS 8.1. It makes you authenticate with a code and you can see what devices and mac's you've enabled from your iPhone messages settings. And you can toggle them on/off individually.

Thanks! This worked perfectly! I got my iPad and MacBook Pro working SMS Relay #

New iWork Design and Icons previewed in trackpad gestures demo (System Preferences -> Trackpad)

And they revealed the release date for OS X Yosemite:

Tuesday, 14th of October 2014.

Have a look at the calendar and the day (Tuesday) in the menu bar.

Ok, this one from Shazam page in App Store. Look at all "h", "p", "g", "e", "i", "n"

Some people are not taking your opinion seriously, but I do see what you mean. I think the look of Helvetica on my MacBook Air display is not optimal. With or without "LCD font smoothing" turned on in Preferences, the effect is the same: typefaces displayed on the main menus that look grubby, aliased, and lacking sharpness. A bit of kerning would also be useful.

Very noticeable (for those who care) from previous OS Xs. Typography was so important to Steve Jobs and I hope they make the necessary adjustments.

I'm as miffed as you are. Apparently Windows 9 "wouldn't be right" so they went straight to Windows 10. Wouldn't be right? You mean, too logical?

Apparently 8.1 = 9 (maybe 8 + 1 =9?), so next version is 10. See? It's very logical.....

I saw on the blog for the event that 'Windows X' was actually bandied about by the Windows fans.......:apple:

No. 9 in Chinese Culture

Besides 6 and 8, Chinese people like 9 very much as 9 has the same pronunciation with 久 (Jiu, meaning everlasting). On the Valentine’s Day, a man usually presents his lover 99 or 999 roses to symbolize the eternal love.

Windows 9 = Eternal Love.

Since Nine, the highest single-digit number in base ten, stands for completeness and eternity, many emperors in the ancient China love the number a lot. ‘Nine Continents’ is used to describe the large territory of an empire.

Windows 9 = Large Empire. :D

The world-famous Forbidden City in Beijing is a representative palace of Nine. In this magnificent imperial palace of China’s Ming (1368 - 1644) and Qing (1644 - 1911) Dynasties, the total number of the rooms is 9, 999 and a half. The three major halls - Hall of Supreme Harmony, Hall of Central Harmony and Hall of Preserved Harmony - are all of a height of 9 Zhang and 9 Chi (about 108.2 ft; Zhang and Chi are both ancient Chinese length unit). There are 81 doornails in nine rows and nine columns on each gate. The number of almost all the stairs is nine or a multiple of nine. Apart from the Forbidden City, the construction of the Summer Palace and the Temple of Heaven are also based on number 9.

Okay. I don't have an explanation. Maybe Microsoft hates the Chinese? I don't know.

SMS Relay now requires a second verification. After the popup in Messages.app on OS X for relay, another pops up with a code that you have to enter on your phone.
