I believe there aren't going to be versions any more, like Office or Chrome. It will just be Windows with constant, rolling updates (they see me rollin'...) But all that is off-topic.

How is anythinin the AppStore not readable?

The Mac App Store (and the iOS App Store) have some of Apple's weaker UI designs. But I just noticed that they are making slight improvements in newer versions of Yosemite, so that gives me hope.

It's very strange why they use a downward arrow to represent "Updates". Up, down... confusing! :p (I know, I know... down=download, install)

Ok, this one from Shazam page in App Store. Look at all "h", "p", "g", "e", "i", "n"

There isn't any fix for this? Like you can do with the non-retina iPad mini - switch to thicker fonts so iOS 7 looks a bit better on non-retina screens...?

Working on my 2013 iMac and 6+.

As soon as I installed and restarted Yosemite, I opened the Messages app in OS X and it immediately asked if I wanted to use that feature with my iPhone, I said Yes and it gave me a code to enter on my iPhone.
I unlocked my iPhone and a prompt popped up asking to enter the code from my iMac.

After that, it works.

I'm also on iOS 8.1...

Got my iPhone running 8.1 and my macbook running 10.10 GM, and found the switch to turn on message forwarding in the settings on my iPhone but it asks for the code displayed on my Mac but one is never displayed.....Any thoughts?

OK, so I have updated both my iPhone 6 Plus to 8.1 and MacBook Pro with Retina to Yosemite GM. When opening the Messages app on OS X nothing happened that asked about SMS relay.

In Setting on my iPhone, there is a "Text Message Forwarding" menu that allows me to toggle on and list my Macbook Pro. When I toggle it to on, I get "Enter the code shown on your mac to allow iPhone Text Messages to be sent and received on... MacBook Pro". The messages app opens on OS X, however there is no code for me to enter?

I have tried everything to fix, AirDrop works, restarted all machines, turned on off bluetooth, airplane mode, everything. Is anyone else getting this? Please help if possible!

What I did was open Messages in Yosemite. I typed the name of a friend I know who doesn't have an iPhone. I then picked his phone number and tried to send a message. It tried to send as an iMessage which failed immediately (He has an HTC One M8). And then it asked me to verify a code on my iPhone which I did. And then it worked.

So I haven't seen anyone talk about instant hotspot but I have a 5s with iOS 8.0.2 and macbook air (2013) with yosemite beta 4 on it. I can't seem to get my phone's connection to show up as an option for instant hotspot. Has anyone see this work yet?

Because in 2014, the 3D plastic bubble look is as antiquated looking as tailfins and curb feelers. And skeuomorphism is finally going away. Wasn't a good idea with Microsoft Bob, and is just silly now.

I am pointing out the arbitrary use of the term "modern" (as included in every MR article about Yosemite). It seems that "flatter" is being made a characteristic of "modernism" by MR, and by your definition, anything that is changed is automatically more "modern." Neither is really accurate. The design is merely different, not more modern.

I tried to update to this from the public beta and when I reedem the code (i just bought a dev account), it downloads DP7 and then prompts me for an update to Beta 3...whats up with that? wheres the GM?

Code? I didn't get asked about that

EDIT: the function was auto turned off. After turning it on it prompted the code

Anyone have SMS relay working on PB4? I have my phone and iPad registered, but not my laptop, so I am on the newly released beta.

Looking forward to yosemite and hoping it doesn't hose my windows bootcamp like earlier versions did.

I have important work the next months so there is no messing around with it for me unless i'm feeling brave and have slept well.

I had the same thing happen. Haven't tried fixing it as I don't need it right now but it is a pain.

Ill hold off on installing Yosemite.. Seeing as how buggy iOS8 still is... Will probably be the same with OS X... Apple needs to get their things together

I think you're prejudging when you should give it chance. iOS8's latest update runs very smooth. I don't see any bugs with my iPhone 6 Plus. I'm sure Yosemite will be great too but it won't be perfect until at least 3-4 updates. That's with anything.
