No one else having issue with going from DP7 to GM? It says i can update to Beta 3 after i installed DP7 (which it made me download after i redeemed my GM code) but Beta 3 is the Public beta...

I downloaded and installed DP7. Then checked for updates and downloaded and installed DP8 update. Then checked for updates and downloaded GM Candidate.

Apple's solution: buy a retina Mac.

I have to say, though, Yosemite on a non-retina looks like crap.

On a retina, it only stops looking like crap once you change the system font back to Lucida Grande. Otherwise, Helvetica is just too thin.

Disagree. I think it looks absolutely fine on my MBP (non-retina).

I agree. I am running it on a Mid-2012 MBP and it looks fine to me...would it look better on a Retina Display, sure, but to say it looks like crap is a stretch.

Im trying that now. I opted out of the apple seed public beta so hopefully it wont pull and ask me to install that now after I install dp7

Yeah, Apple's solution is obvious. But neither my most used apps or workflow is ready for retina yet. My solution will probably be: buy the last macbook air 11" who come with Mavericks pre-installed...

Could this mean Yosemite will be released Oct-14th?

I have Mid-2012 MBP too and font rendering in some places is ugly.

Got my iPhone running 8.1 and my macbook running 10.10 GM, and found the switch to turn on message forwarding in the settings on my iPhone but it asks for the code displayed on my Mac but one is never displayed.....Any thoughts?
I clicked on the OS X version and the code showed up.

You should not be mixing up the PBs and DPs.

You can run them separately on different partitions, external drives or virtual machines if you want to run both programs.

But neither program was designed to have updates for one installed over the top of an installation from the other. Doing so can introduce bugs making feedback to apple unreliable.

So it is best to just keep them separate and only apply the relevant updates to the programs from whence they came, i.e., only install PB updates for PBs and DP updates for DPs.

Yes, crap is way over the top, but for those with an eye there is little doubt that the typography is just not quite right in some of the main application menus.

I am having the exact same issue!

i know there are other more specific threads, but given that this concerns the GM candidate....
anyone updated a 2011 MBP 15"?
what features are now confirmed to be left out? I love continuity and whilst i accept it cant transfer app states, can i still answer calls and send SMSs from my 2011 MBP onto an iPhone 6?

Thanks

Yup, that's what you should be seeing ... only the app Handoff features (that require Bluetooth LE) are unsupported ...

How do I get the SMS via Messages on OS X feature enabled? I have a 6+ running 8.0.2, the DP GM installed, and the relevant iCloud account enabled on both my iPhone and my 2010 MBP.

Help me please =(

You need iOS 8.1

Still not working, when try to do a non iPhone number, I get a "this number isn't registered with iMessage." I don't get any notification from on my iPhone and when trying to register from my iPhone to get a code on my Mac it doesn't show anything on my Mac. Any suggestions? So frustrated

You on iOS 8.1 on your phone?

In Purchased items I am still only seeing Public beta 3 at the moment, not Beta 4.

You won't see PB 4 until after it has been downloaded and installed. Then it should show.

Edited to add: Earlier, I did an update on iPhone 5 and iPad Air with 8.1 And for some reason, I couldn't get AirDrop going no matter what I tried settings wise, as well as install again and then restore from backup. Did a clean install (set up as new) and everything is as it should be now. Just wanted to share that in case some have the same or similar problem.
