Ok, very odd and sporadic bug I just noticed. I've turned on the option to speak the time when pressing with two fingers, just to check it out (hadn't before). Sometimes, Siri will just say "..P.M", omitting the time. Other times, she will be delayed by 5 seconds or so in saying anything at all. Lastly, there are times where she continues repeating the time, albeit very very softly -- almost inaudible at least 3 or 4 times.

Has anyone else run across this issue? Series 2 on my end, linked to a 7+ within in a few inches and with my wifi router about 15 feet away with a great signal.

Thats a hell of a lot more than I would pay for an S1.
That was about a year ago. Now they have up to $30. If Apple devalues their own stuff so quickly then it’s dumb to buy new stuff often. Heck they only give up to $110 for a Series 4!!!

For the people that have updated, please post on how’s battery life on 6.1. Curious to know since many people said 6.0 was causing it to drain much faster.

I updated first thing this morning and currently mine is using about 4% per hour on 6.1, down to 62% with 9 hours standby 2 hours usage. On 6.0.1 each day was different. Some days 4%, some days 6 - 7%.

Had to re-pair mine, it would get stuck on "Needs to be connected to the internet" or something to that affect, seems to be installing now, hopefully.

I just did the update on my S1 that I received as a replacement from Apple for my S0 because the Apple logo on the back side peeled off. Everything looks fine and if battery life is at least as good as it was before, I still can‘t justify to pull the trigger on the S5 as I am perfectly satisfied with my AW although it does feel slow sometimes... 🤪

Damn it. One annoyance has occurred: I can't unlock my iMac anymore with my Apple Watch since last night's update. I had that problem as well when i first started using this feature after I got my new iMac 2 months ago (my previous iMac did not support it). The only solution that really worked was to reset my Apple Watch. Seems like I have to do a reset and restore again. 🙁

Battery life seems okay: I woke up with 88% battery left, approximately 9 hours after removing it from its charger.

Update: I'm currently re-pairing my watch and, well, this is something new. Siri has become so dumb, she does not even speak US English anymore. 😟

Update 2: After un-pairing and restoring my Apple Watch from back-up i can unlock my iMac again! Hoorahh! (And Siri does work as well, so I'm not sure what the above displayed "Siri does not work in your Language"-BS was all about because it works and I have not changed my system language or anything. 🤷🏼‍♂️)

I haven’t had the battery drain issues in my Series 5 on 6.0.1. When I first got the watch, I was getting terrible battery life, like ending the day with 20%. Now, I end the day (on at 5am and off at 9pm) with 50-55%. And this is with AoD turned on. Very impressed with battery life considering AoD. Updated to 6.1 yesterday so we’ll see if that continues.

Anyone noticed that in Air plane mode, the green phone still shows as connected and heath data still gets transferred back to the iPhone.

Working as designed.

Phone / watch remembers if you had turned on bluetooth while in Airplane mode and will return to that state. It will also remember if you had bluetooth off while in Airplane mode and will return to that state as well. Your choice. BTW - this became more apparent with watchOS 6 and is not a 6.1 thing.

It depends on how you go into airplane mode. I believe that BT stays on (most airlines permit BT being active in flight). You need to manually turn off BT for it to be off.

I updated my S4 yesterday after work. It took about 25-30 minutes. No issues before with 6.0.1, and no apparent issues with 6.1 now.

Running iOS 13.2 on IP11 Pro Max.

Upgraded my series 4 to 6.1 no problem from iPhone SE on 13.2. Watch appears stable, faster connection on internet and Siri is improved over not working to working but slow response and losing connection every second request. 🙄
I have the same exact set up as you, are you able to make and receive calls on your watch? Since 6 and 13 it's been sketchy.

hmmm was updated pulled? Sons series 1 not showing update… still shows 4.3.2 as latest version...
It sounds like your son’s watch is actually the first gen (aka original or series 0) and you’re mistakenly calling it series 1, because only the first gen apple watch would show as up to date on watchOS 4.3.2 since that was the last software update it ever got before being left out of watchOS 5 and later updates.

I did it this morning, took about 45 min and there are no apparent issues so far.

On a side note, just in case anyone didn’t know, since iOS 12 apple allows to install one-point and two-point software updates on the apple watch without having to install the respective software update on the paired iphone first. Today, for example, I was able to install watchOS 6.1 on my watch without having to upgrade the paired iphone to iOS 13.2 first (i.e., watch is currently running on watchOS 6.1 but the phone is still on iOS 13.1.3). Also related, watchOS 6 introduced the ability to check for software updates by going to settings>general>software update on the apple watch itself.

Is that the first gen Apple Watch. Think that only supports up to watchos 4.
Yeah, it looks like it’s a first gen and he mistakenly calls it series 1.

Do you think it'll slow it down?
I remember what iOS 4 (I think) did to my 3G. Made it unusable. There were videos showing how ridiculously unusable it made the phone. Not that I think that would happen now, but it certainly has happened.

Waiting for someone else with a Series 1 to report in.
Exactly, I've got a series 1 (but it's a First gen) and it's not able to go past 4.3.2, so I'm surprised that all of a sudde3n now it can go to 6.1, when Apple told us they weren't going to support it anymore?

You need to be clear on what you have: the original Apple Watch didn't have a series number, just names ("Apple Watch", "Apple Watch Sport", "Apple Watch Edition"). When Apple came out with the second generation, they called them "Series 1" and "Series 2". Because of this, many have taken to calling the original ones "Series 0", though this is not official Apple nomenclature.

If you have a Series 1, it's second generation (newer SoC than the Series 0), and watchOS 6 was announced for this back in September. The Series 0 stopped getting updated after watchOS 4. If you can get watchOS 6.1 onto a Series 0, I'll be very surprised.
