I actually didn't like this ad, although I am a fan of most Apple ads..

Perfect message! With the technical information transmitted along, but secondary, to the main idea.

Why does Apple always need to include the tacky "content from iTunes" disclaimer at the end? Do people still not know this?

Reading comprehension is your friend.

1. This thread is about the ad.
2. I was stating my personal experience with my iPad 2 which was the same as with my iPad 1. There were no scratches or dents.

No amount of searching would change my personal "experience". I have also heard about people getting returns as "new" at some stores.

If the iPad is not covered by a plastic cover on the front and back then it is a return.

Do you listen to country music ironically? Do you drink PBR?

Nice, yet vain, attempt at backpedaling. Keep trying.

i like it, i think its better than some previous ones ive seen from apple.

The iPhone 4 "if you don't have an iPhone" ad is soo stupid and cheesy. You would never see that in the UK because it's just such a typical American cheesy advert.

This has got to be one of the best posts I've ever read on this site. I just don't get why so many mac people decide to hate Flash just because steve jobs tells them to. I had no idea that this was really an issue until I asked a question on this website yesterday and two people replied to that question. I would not buy a product that doesn't have or support my choice to add/install Adobe's Flash. Mac people can't just stick their heads into the ground and ignore reality. Most of the internet sites use flash technology. Steve Jobs is simply wrong about this issue.

Steve Jobs isn't "wrong", he has made a business decision. And judging by the fact that over 160 million iOS devices have been sold, I would argue that not having Flash hasn't hurt Apple. Hatred for Flash is a direct result of its many shortcomings; not everyone who hates Flash is a "mac person".

As a side note, you do realise that "Mac people" can and do run Flash, right? Not every person who owns a macintosh owns an iPhone or iPod touch, and vice versa.

My wife (who loves our iPad 1) saw the ad and said...
"I think they need to get thier hand off it"

Legality. They can't show some of the apps (GarageBand, etc) as if they were native to the iPad.

It is, indeed, sad to see someone get so emotionally attached to a consumer product that they cannot admit to themselves that the product may have some flaws.

You obviously need to relax. There is more to life than iPad.

Nice, yet vain, attempt at backpedaling. Keep trying.

I love how you completely ignore the arguments that people are presenting to you and just reply with these ridiculous, ignorant, and irrelevant comments. Either address our points and prove us wrong, or don't comment at all.

Ps: I'm the one that needs to relax?

Ironic isn't it? Way to go and "tattle" on us.

Great Ad.

Most Apple ads annoy me, but this is great.

It really get's across the philosophy Apple has been pursuing for quite a while now: specs are great, but the primary thing is the user experience.

Belief? Magical? Im sorry, Apple is smelling their farts a tad much. Last time I checked, they havent cured cancer/aids.

You know that's not what they're trying to say. And last time I checked, it didn't take "magic" to cure cancer/aids. How about not bringing up topics like that when we're talking about something of far lesser gravity?

Pretty damn good results for being "wrong."

No Apple iDevice supports Flash. There have been around 180 million (I assume it's even more now) iDevices sold. None of them support Flash.

What are people lining up for the world over - overnight and the length of entire blocks, causing issues of demand outstripping supply? Apple iDevices.

Apple has completely, unequivocally, rendered the lack of Flash a total non-issue.

Why do so many people listen to Steve Jobs?

The man's usually right. Even when everyone screams "no", he turns around and releases something that pretty much wows everyone and redefines entire markets. He took Apple from near-death to rapidly approaching the most valuable company on the planet, with MS firmly in their rear-view mirror. You need some pretty amazing gear to accomplish this and *stay* there. People tend to listen to someone like that. As in, people who are successful inspire attention. I don't see why this is so terribly hard to understand.

Can't you "Apple apologists" see that he's right? The fact that 99% of the people who log on to a complaint forum to bitch about their iPad are having problems totally proves that 99% of iPads have the same problems. It's statistics!

Ummm..where's that <sarcasm> tag?

Perhaps if you spent more time educating yourself and less time convincing yourself that a flawed product is acceptable, you would learn something. Try googling the issue.

Based on the way you write, however, I am going to guess that you won't take the time to do so.

Some people are just not interested in facing the truth.

Okay you guys win:

4,000,000 sold 2% faulty = 80,000 faulty.

All will be exchanged by Apple if buyers/consumer want to do that.

Happy? Now move on!

Ummmm try over 90%market share, again they are doing fine. Both companies can exist. You obviously have no IT background or you wouldn't make claims like that
Yeah, Microsoft won. That was ten years ago. But then what happened? It all slipped away from them. The only place where they are still big, at the moment, is the enterprise. But everyone can see how that is slipping away from them. There are serious estimates that in the next three years, there will be 200 million computer replacements sold that don't run Microsoft software. Their software will be written by Apple and Google. And these devices will enter the enterprise, they already do. In five years there will be no good reason why the PC on the desk in the office should run Microsoft software. In ten years there will be no good reason to have Microsoft on the server.
Even if 200 million devices that apple produces doesn't that still leaves over 90% of computers that do and the #1 worldwide mobile os that does, does that make Steve right or wrong? No, it is his choice but don't make it seem like the web has turned their back on flssh

Beautiful guitar app in iPad 2 ad?

What guitar app was shown in the new iPad 2 ad? The way the strings seemed to vibrate had "magical" verisimilitude. But I don't think that scene came from either Garage Band or Classical Guitar apps. I'd appreciate it if someone could identify this app for me.
