I need the rings to display in the upper right of the screen at all times cause carrying that would for sure be a new Fitness+ workout

Apple really needs to get its ish together. There are some really great products (i.e. 14" MacBook Pro, AirPods Pro Gen 2, etc.) but a majority of the product line is just a huge WTF?!

So that means they will only allow certain features on this $2499 iPad Ultra and if you only the 12" iPad Pro you wont get all the features, even though it uses the same processor.

How many versions of iPad do we need?
  • iPad Ultra - 6 front cameras, 6 back cameras, 8 speakers
  • iPad Pro
  • iPad Air
  • iPad
  • iPad Old
  • iPad Mini

Just get the iPad Neck strap. Problem solved.

I’m scared to even think about the price.

I’m thinking $3K for the base model

I know people like to joke about Apple's pricing on here - but this is the first article on MacRumours I've read that immediately made me think "That is going to cost something ridiculous". It's pretty niche, too, right? I'm trying to think of the benefits - design pros, clearly. I'd love to see it.

The goal: A device at every size for which Apple exclusively controls software distribution.

If they finally suck it up and put macOS on it, I will buy it SO FAST.
Meh macOS isn't needed anymore on something like this. Just put the pro apps on iPadOS. Slapping macOS onto an iPad won't be as fluid as you think. Wouldn't mind a dual booting option for both macOS and iPadOS if it came to that though.

An iPad, perfect for… iPadOS. If grossest input is Touch = iPadOS, if it’s Mouse+keyboard = MacOS. Apple has already messed up too much with Stage Manager, so I’m sure they’ve learnt the lesson and would definitely not put MacOS in an iPad (I anyway think it was never considered, since it would destroy the product).
Apple could charge extra for a macOS mode on the iPad Pro. This way, those that really want it can pay for it and leave the rest of us free to enjoy iPadOS. (Curious how many of those loudly screaming for macOS on iPad would actually pony of the cash for it.)
