The writing was on the wall shortly after they released these cases.
Which generation? I had the second and fourth generations. No issues with scratches. I did use a case for a short time with my 4th generation Nano, but I decided to take it off. Both were Product Red.About as bad as those iPod nanos that got scratched effortlessly.

Had to get the inventories down. Remember Cook makes all decisions based on how it affects the Supply Chain.I can’t believe they waited all the way till April to cancel that failed product but better late than never
Probably made out of insects, that seems to be the craze these days.I don't see Apple going back to leather in any way, but I do wonder what Apple will replace the FineWoven with. I wonder if they'll come up with a FineWoven 2.0 or something like that.
When you’re this far in the minority probably not best to accuse others of being wreckless with their cases. Maybe we’re not all type A about our products and baby them like you do. Pocket and desk use? Dude you need to get out and do something more active and you’ll see what EVERYONE else is complaining about.Mine still looks and feels great after regular pocket and desk use. Not sure what others are doing to theirs.
It’s nice to know that they didn’t stick to it as long as they did with the butterfly keyboard. I held off on a laptop upgrade until they switched back to a normal keyboard. Finally, FineWoven is joining butterfly keyboards in the trash bin.

I use a RhinoShield bumper with a MagSafe wallet (3rd party). Tried to go back to a standard case after trying this combo and it felt unwieldy. The best case (combo) around is a PhoneFin Wallet used in conjunction with a K Tomoto bumper. The silicon bumper feels great in the hand and grips nicely so that the phone isn’t slipping all over the place. Not sure why Apple never offered a silicon bumper. Bumpers are better.
Apple cases are usually well made--perfect fit and buttons work well--and are available at new iPhone launch. And they're easily returned or exchanged if there's a problem. I'm happy to pay for the convenience.Still don't get it why people don't just buy a $10 cover from a third party that lasts the entire lifespan of the phone. Is the Apple logo on the back of the case that important?
