Does anyone think that there will be a new iLife introduce this year?
They still have to advertise it.
If you of all people can confirm it's decent, then release day will be like eating a bacon cheeseburger, wrapped in bacon, with an extra side of bacon, with none of the health impact.
One person does not make a safe bet for stability in the OS. Wait and see. I'd be amazed if Apple released an OSX that is perfect. It isn't even close to possible.
So should I have waited? They won't update the iMac would they?

So the four features that apple will be dropping in Mac OS X Lion is Rosetta, Adobe, Java and Front Row?
I was thinking that it might be interesting to post a poll to see how many current OSX users intend to purchase Lion. I haven't seen anything in it (yet) that would cause me to want to spend the money - even if it is reasonably priced.
miknos said:I heard in MacStories that they're upgrading the macs with more RAM to demonstrate Lion. Seems like a prove that 10.7 is more RAM hungry. I know it's getting cheaper and cheaper but Apple should have 4GB STANDARD.
1.People still needing rosetta need to move in the 21st Century.
2.Adobe CS5.5 and the flash plug-in run just fine.
3.Java is still very much supported, just no longer installed and maintained/updated by apple.
4.Grab an apple TV.
I don't know that saying someone is or a group of people are wrong is bigotry. Bigotry is intollerance of differing opinions, not the act of holding differing opinions.
So, if I say that Republicans are mostly wrong, does that make me a bigot? Surely not. If I say Republican's are mostly bad people then I think that's closer to bigotry.
Who cares???? It's not like you can buy the software there. Somebody wake me when you can buy a physical copy of the software to install. I'd even settle for being able to download and create my own boot DVD or flash drive.A pair of reports today are suggesting that Apple may be preparing its retail stores for a launch of OS X Lion next week
Don't put any money on your guarantee.
I've been using DP4 as my main OS since its release. That is, I wiped my MBPs drive and did a clean install of Lion DP4. Daily OS, with all my files, all the apps I use, everything. I'm treating it as a full release every day. This is how you really test stuff. It isn't futzing around with a vanilla copy on a separate drive. Instead, it's about forgetting that it's a preview and relying on it every day while taking your chances. Not everyone is able to do this, but for those that are, they'll learn damn quick whether this is something that's ready for release.
It's extremely stable and there are no showstopper bugs (and my hardware isn't exactly new, either.) This is the general consensus.
If the GM is anything like this (an improvement over DP4, apparently) Lion will be damn-near flawless upon release.
This will be an extremely hard act for the competition to follow.

I hope the Mac App Store only release of Lion is an utter failure so Apple finally has to rethink its business model. Don't feed the pig by supporting this distribution model folks.
Why so upset over no CD????
I don't care how I get it as long as I get it. I just don't get why the CD is so important to an individual. I can understand why some government agencies and corporate customers won't like it and Apple may have to give them install disks or disk images to make some — many of these organizations need a physical product in inventory.... but for the average customer... who cares unless you don't have internet????
