Apple Rumored to Announce New iPod Touch, Nano and Shuffle Around July 14

I am excited with the news. I am planning to do a trial of 32GB iPod touch for home iPhone replacement, and will see if it's sufficient to do so. The lower price is my first reason, but also I seldom use the phone features on iPhone at home. Most of my social activities are done through messages apps (WhatsAPP, LINE, Facebook Chat, etc) and there are also e-phone which utilizes internet for calling. So it looks like I can completely replace my iPhone at home with this. Other things to consider:
1. Can it take pictures as good as iPhone?
2. Can I use Apple Music?
3. Can I use Apple Pay?
It it ticked all the boxes, that would be perfect.

The preponderance of evidence says you're wrong. In addition to everything else you've seen, the current models are out of stock at the stores. See my post above.
I'm excited to see how far Apple goes in terms of improving the internals. I'm fairly confident they'll go 64-bit on the touch and make some kind of improvement on the nano; beyond that I only hope for the best.

Don't they normally do announcements around 8 or 9 am Pacific time instead of at midnight?
Just looked on Apple store in UK. Touch - 1 day, Nano 1-3 days, Shuffle in stock. No clues that anything is going to happen today. Anyways, I'm not convinced anything will much will happen today. I would have thought there would have been some kind of event if it was going to be anything more than a colour refresh.
This sort of thing won't get anything more than a store update and a press release.

Not historically. As others have pointed out (and linked articles as evidence), the announcement time has always occured at 9:40-9:42 AM PDT. Now whether or not stores have them by then, that's a totally different story.

Apple removed the iPod tab from the top of their website after WWDC and replaced it with the Music tab.

There must be some BB, Walmart, Target employees that are on this forum. For the touch to be available today?
Just because it is introduced on the online store doesn't necessarily mean that any have arrived at retail stores yet, particularly non apple stores.
I would suspect we would see the online store go down overnight tonight/tomorrow/ or Thursday so they can make the changes to the website with product available in stores by end of the week since it says available to ship 1-3 days for the Touch.
Actually, Yes! For a very small fee, Skype can make phone calls to anywhere. But you need to be in range of WiFi. Like at home---not in your car.
Skype works with toll-free numbers too, like the kind I use all day long for work, when getting on a conference call. And it sounds much better than a real cell phone connection, which sounds like two cans and a long string between them BY COMPARISON.
