Sorry if this has been repeated, but I haven't read through all 6 pages. Am I the only one who noticed the narrator said "the iPhone" not just "taken with iPhone"?? Usually they refer the iPhone as a proper noun.

That was ****ing extraordinary! I like how 90% of outdoor scenes where during bad weather - we're fed up with "happy people sunny weather" cellphone ads. And how they tried to find the special moments in everyday life - fantastic!

Taps in everyday life and inter whined the camera via the smart phone has become. this is the epitome of a lifestyle related ad... Brilliant.

stop promoting filming and taking pictures during a concert! aargh!

going to a concert and seeing nothing but little screens in the air is just annoying and stupid.

It's a brilliant ad. But I echo the thoughts of an earlier poster - it would have been perfect with no voiceover at the end.

I agree with that but as I've said in prior posts the companies customer bases so large and now a bit vague as far as applehead knowledge they almost are forced to tell you rather do it digitally where jaded folks like us would get it..

Beautiful. Keep this coming, Apple. The emotional aspect is one that Apple still has over anybody, and their marketing firms haven't been exploiting that enough. Remind us of why Apple = love, the soul behind the company, why Apple = magic.

I have a feeling Tim Cook has received his wakeup call and is about to get more serious than ever....

Agreed. The vacuum created a by Steve Jobs death is finally being filled and a newer more guided company is emerging.. The staffing changes in the high executive suite will yield some new things as the Alphas that emerged from Steve's death are now gone... Hey things sometimes take a while to regroup, know doubt the same is true here.

There, corrected that for you.

Thank you; and you're right, it is well saturated .... which ironically is something I and millions of other people actually like and prefer. Pictures might not have the true to life colours that Apple seem to harp on about, but I like that and its one reason why I love my S3 compared to my old iPhone 5 (so yes, I am qualified to put this argument across having owned both ... are you?)

Also, its the reason why Apple moved to non anti-glare iMac screens, the same as every other competitor did some time before; to give images more pop (over actual true to life colours).

How would you address the issue re the Samsung having a larger (nicer IMO) screen and ability to store images on SD card then ... or have you run out of ideas?

I'm a very heavy instagram user, and I've been using my iPhone 4 exclusively for instagram and not my Nexus 4 because the camera on the iPhone is just leaps ahead.

I've been wanting to purchase an iPhone 5 for the last few days, but I keep holding out because I know a 5s is coming out soon. What do you guys think ?. Should I go for an iPhone 5 or hold out until the 5s comes out ?

Too bad for you. I did as well and the S3 is the biggest POS with a cheap cartoon display. The only and I mean ONLY reason anyone thinks Samsung is this "godlike" phone is because they've been brainwashed by the corporate conglomerate that is Samsung, who has spent RECORD amounts of dollars to convince those like yourself that their old-tech, passe, horribly inaccurate AMOLED displays are in any way competitive.

Wow, to accuse Samsung of brainwashing people over Apple is probably the most ridiculous statement I've ever heard! And why the hate; can you not respect other peoples opinions? Its people like you that give Apple owners a bad name!

I don't think the S3 is 'Godlike' as you put it, but having owned an iPhone 3, 4 and 5, and now both a Lumia 820 and S3, I think I'm more than qualified to give my opinion - even against people clearly brainwashed by Apple!

For the record, the iphone 5 screen has amazing clarity, but its tiny compared to the S3 and although more true to life re colours, the significantly larger and more saturated screen of the Samsung is (in my eyes as a professional photographer and someone that uses mobiles to take a lot of images) MUCH more pleasing. Colours may not be 100% true to life but they look better, more rich and vibrant ... and of course easier to see on a larger screen. This is a fact, not an opinion, so why make yourself look foolish by calling a competitors product that is better as far as how images look (however they achieve that).

As for AMOLED displays, if you knew anything about screen technology in the first place you'd know they give whites a slight blue tint, but make colours look beautifully rich. Its a trade off - for text reading I wouldn't recommend an AMOLED screen, but for pictures they excel in every way ... so please check your facts and spend some time learning about the different technologies.

I'd also like to point out that this so called 'old tech' AMOLED screen process is in its infancy within the television market, but manufacturers are working on ways to bring it to the masses more cheaply; because of the quality over LCD and Plasma displays. Not bad for an 'old technology'!

So every iphone 5 owner can relay on what is said in this commercial?

That is a fail.

Point of commercial should be to get new customers not justify the ones already bought it. The typical apple-way. You pay more - now we need to show you why you did it in a cheesy poetic non-technical way.

You mean those OVER-saturated, bubblegum colors? Thanks, I pass.

Yes, those 'OVER-saturated, bubblegum colours' that in my opinion (having owned an iPhone 3,4 and 5) make the LARGER more pleasing Samsung display superior than the iPhone when it comes to viewing both pictures and movies.

@ 0.15 where guy bends down outside that old house with red shutters is in east london..filmed in that house many times..its been left like that since its birth some 150 years...

If Apple was selling commercials the stock price would be over $1000. Ad's help but having refreshed product can only beat HTC and Samsung. Apple missed the boat by releasing a product months after these Android flagships.
Apple is too predictable with release dates and models. The "s" models have no advantage of surprise.

Mmmhhhh

Wrong! Wrong!
The first part was brilliant, finally an ad not focused on the product but on the feelings, the emotions. Nice shots and a wonderful intimate music make you wonder. They unveil a world you would like to be part of, and then... the voiceover with the stats! All the romance is lost, you suddenly remember that was just an ad.

Since I just regularly carry an SD card around with me incase I run out of space to store photos on my phone...

I don't want a phone as big as the S3 or S4.

I don't care about the screen on my phone that much because it's tiny compared to my iPad and professionally calibrated televisions and monitors. And knowing full well what an accurate screen is suppose to look like, I'm more than satisfied with the iPhone screen for roughing things out.

Everyone I know with an S3 has a terribly scratched up screen by the way. I figured they'd use the same Gorilla glass Apple uses, but something isn't right. They either scratch far easier, or Samsung users beat the living **** out of their phones while installing their micro SD cards.

.. and I (and a lot more) DO want a phone that big (big thanks to its large lovely screen) ... which by the way slips into my pocket just as well as my old iPhone 5. I also own an iPad and it does make the iPhone look tiny; but not so much the Samsung ... you should try it!

Selling my iPhone 5 the other day, I couldn't believe how small the screen looks ... and how outdated this seems, but hey ho, I guess Samsung, HTC, Nokia and everyone else bring out phones with larger screens are wrong and Apple are right thinking everyone still wants small screens (Note: check Apple share price versus Samsung).

As for the glass; they share the same type so its a bit silly saying 'Something isn't right'. The Samsung will scratch JUST THE SAME as the iPhone screen - use a protector! As for beating the living daylights out of their phones when replacing the SD card; yeah, of course, every time I slip the cover off my S3 to put a card in, I then proceed to bash it about till kingdom come and do all I can to scratch the screen before simply popping the cover back on!

Hmmm!

Google announces "glass"
Apple works on curved glass "iwatch"
Google show world "glass"
Apple goes silent.
Apple releases picture taking focus ad.

Apple isn't focusing on the iPhone.... Apple is pointing out that it changed the face of photography with a phone, imagne what they are working on with optics now.

WWDC - apple surprises world with google glass competition called "iwatch"

Done apple style.

Has nothing to do with a wristwatch.

Well it is now Apple vs HTC. Samsung fell into their own trap, forgot that leading the market meant no templates to copy and now they release the same phone with gimmicky features lol. HTC on the other hand has a beautiful design (which is entirely their own) unlike the S4, plastic same design as S3, which I may point out that Apple got slammed on even though Apple made it thinner, Samsung didn't change it at all but that's okay because only Apple is allowed to be bashed.

The fact that a half year old phone still out does one just released in the camera department (probably the most used feature on a smart phone) speaks for itself. Samsung are all talk and mainly attract people who want a reason to hate on Apple. My dad has the S2 and it just froze up permanently just from pressing the wrong freaking button. This is why a lot of people prefer macs, because you can't accidentally screw something up and get on with your work.

HTC one looks wonderful but I am still a ways off getting a new phone ;)

wouldn't surprise me. It would prove that everyone jumping on the smart watch bandwagon are just copying the motivation to do it. Would be hilarious if the competitors all release their watches that probably won't sell while Apple releases something new and innovative that everyone is very interested in. Apple quickly patents their invention and boom, you got yourself a suicide cult of Apple haters that just can't handle Apple winning.

Very well said.

Well, if you think about it.... Makes perfect sense.

Google announced they would NOT sue over competetion of glass unless sued first.

Apple kind of already owns the patent on it.

Just like apple backhandedly made google update its mapping system, google is making apple make use of its patent by showing them the world wants it and its useful.

Apple has been beating the doors down about smaller / thinner.

This is probably the most innovative concept to strike market since the iPhone. If done right, would change the game all over again.

No one cares about a stupid watch on your wrist when the watch could be in your line of sight. It's a decoy.

Makes the most sense....

But come on guys, these aren't proper photos they're talking about. On the iPhone you have no control of the iris or shutter speed, there's no hot shoe fitting or tripod mount and it hasn't got a focus ring or a cowel to put over your head. I think this is just a fad and in a years time we will have forgotten about all this nonesense.

Well Pro do you remember the saying "This best camera is the one you have on you". Plus most everyone is NOT a Pro photographers so leave you avant-garde attitude to your coworkers! Plus most all the situations shown in the commercial look like spur of the moment kind of pictures.
