I imagine he has a say in these matters if it's a decision nobody below him is at liberty to make. Especially when it comes down to things like this particular case which could pose a security threat.

Right getting them set up and stuff, not watching some stupid movie.
Perhaps it's as simple as Apple didn't feel it was worthwhile calling people back into the office for this.
Hard to understand why Apple passed this one up. They could have made a mint off of their standard 30% take. Sony must have tried to bring that percentage down.

It isn't available on Amazon or Netflix, either. None of the companies is publicly elaborating. Perhaps it is technical, ie they could not commit to having it ready for download on such short notice. Maybe it is commercial. If it proves popular my guess is that we'll see it on iTunes.

Disappointed in Apple!
I am Disappointed with Apple. I really do not care if I see the movie or not but for a company that has a CEO that is proud to stand up for ethical rights for the gay and lesbian community and for a company that prides itself on how secure it's operating systems are I feel that they should stand up for our freedom as a nation. Apple is one of the top American companies as Sony also is.
We should not let other nations bully us. I feel that Apple should host the movie on iTunes free of charge. It's not about the money it's about our Freedom and our way of life.

You are missing the point, the only reason why $ony is sucking up on Apple is because of this incident. Irrespective of that N.Korean nut job taking the company hostage, how come RACIST Amy pascal gets to keep her job? where is the outrage with that??? I bet you if it was a black CEO making racist remarks about Jews, all hell would have broken loose! Fake a$$ hypocrites!

Well, technically (and geographically) Obama is running toward North Korea...
No one believes there is a real terrorist threat including Apple. This whole thing is a circus so why would Apple want to be involved? Any profits they make from it are not worth it because Sony can't decide how to best capitalize from this flop and no one wants to deal with their last minute changes. I wouldn't be surprised at all if there is another obstacle for this dumb movie and no one ends up streaming it at all in 2014.

As to Apple's decision, it simply indicates how completely corporate Apple is and how fearful its management is to take an even symbolic stand. Good on Google and Microsoft.

Why are you calling for someone to be fired because of their private emails? I'm sure you have nothing to hide in all of your private correspondences so you won't mind if I release them to all of your employers or employees. My point is that everyone I know including me has written and said things that would get us fired in this knee jerk, guilty liberal world.
