Maybe it has to do with App Thinning?

Hmm...there's something going on, it's almost like it's loading resources before launch for some apps, so once you're in they are up and running quicker but there's a delay to even get in.

Unsure if App Thinning is the culprit or some 3D-Touch related delay.

So you think it's just your phone, or the OS? I have the problem too.
Well, I'm replacing the phone, the lag I'm talking about is that when I unlock the phone with touch ID, the status bar disappears for about 2-5 seconds and you can't do anything with the phone until the status bar comes back.

I hope it fixes the wallet "zoom" issue that many people (myself included) who upgraded from a 5/5s to 6s have experienced.

An "iOS Senior Advisor" told me that Apple engineering was working on a fix, but couldn't say when it would be released. o_O

This was fixed in 9.1 beta 3

This is all rather odd.
I updated my iPhone 5 to Public Beta 3 around two hours ago after it becoming available today now Public Beta 4 is made available two hours later?
Two Public Betas in One day ???

Beta 3 is from last week.

Good thing I have a data cap. All these updates are helping me bust right through and pay a little extra each month. Ha.

1.6GB on 6 Plus. Why is this such a hefty update? Speculation? Big changes?

I wonder if it will remove the stutter from all the metal capable devices.
yea - which is the whole point of rendering the whole UI in metal - can't understand the stutterer people are reporting.

Anxious to see any improvement - down to 3 mins (big file but is downloading very quickly)

I really hope I can get some help from you guys (and girls)!

I have the new iPhone 6S with the lightning fast TouchID, but when I put my finger on the ring, it unlocks instantly but then I see for about 2 seconds a black flash before I see my homescreen.

Any solutions or tips? Thanks in advance! (running the iOS 9.1 beta's)

I don't understand why Apple actually does know how to make iOS smooth as butter, while they release a major-update that isn't this. The difference is incredible! I've been using iOS 9 GM which already felt smoother on my iPhone 6 than many people experienced, but compared to iOS 9.1 beta 4 the initial version feels like crap. xD

iOS 9.1 flies on my iPhone 6. On my iPad mini 4 as well. The appswitcher though, is still laggy when closing it on the iPad. Strange that Apple hasn't fixed this yet.

Is your homescreen wallpaper different to your lockscreen? If so this is just what happens...

If I have to read "Downloading Now..." one more time, I'm going to scream. That's the whole point of the beta, you download it. We get it. We all get it. Seriously. We do.
Downloaded already. (so, no worries about me saying it) :D

Apple has been really working lately, updates every week.

You know, Apple is constantly working on iOS. They don’t work towards releasing beta builds, they work towards a final release and drop beta builds for users to test every once in a while. ;)

New item in Settings > Battery
"Battery Life Suggestions" > Enable Auto-Lock (I have this turned off)
