I've been stuck on the Apple install screen for over an hour now. The first time it was on this screen, it moved till the end and then reboot straight to this...(see below) has not moved since!! Help, what do I do reboot? Let it sit? And for how long if I do let it sit?

if u are stuck for another 30 mins, then u can try hard reset... ie power + home button. i cant guarantee if it works.. hope u r with a developer account

youre screwed dude. enjoy your brick.

youre a developer right? you dont know how to fix it?

itll be up soon

Yes i am developer, me and my business partner. Apple has my UDID. I was thinking about doing a hard reboot (hold down the hold and home button)? Im assuming worse case, just need to do a restore and reintall the beta again?

No, I think it's going to be pretty similar to that in the end. How long does it take to make a Safari icon? I could make one now in Photoshop in a few minutes that would look better than this.

I don't think it's a matter of how long it could take to draft a new icon but more about what's their priorities at the moment. I'd rather know Apple is making sure the OS is getting fine tuned; they can make a new app icon in a jiffy.

Not sure if anyone noticed this

This may have been announced at WWDC, but I just noticed that when you have a folder that is full with more than 9 apps in it, it adds pages to the folder like home screens. Is this new in beta 2 or did I just miss that in the first place?

It's in Beta 1

You missed that in the first beta

Yea, this was shown at the keynote.

I am in your same situation. let me know if you sort it out.

I would wait a little longer, could be trying to fix itself.
If no progress after a while though, yeah, try going through itunes and see what options it gives you. Worst case scenario, do a full restore using the iOS 7 Beta2 download.

Im just worried iTunes wouldnt recognise it.

I take more of an issue with the general UI. Less contrast, bright white backgrounds with light grey lines/text (I lowered brightness to ~25% - saves battery but still marginal), buttons replaced with text, back replaced with "<", for us who are more tech savvy it may make sense. However, for older adults who aren't as tech savvy or have impaired eye sight as is common with age, it isn't as easy to navigate as some suggest. I applaud Apple for such brave, drastic changes, however it has impaired functionality (especially the calendar monthly view). I'm relieved the keyboard in beta 2 has more contrast, typing with white keys on a very light grey background was ridiculous, and I'm a fast typer.

So there's simple, then there's plain awful.

Nice! Awesome, thanks mate! When I tried it slid back, thought pressing the home and power button for a screen shot would not be possible. :)

The new iOS 7 text layout engine makes it much more easy to make an app that can use the "Larger Text" option in Accessibility settings and have the UI layout readjust itself. Also, not sure if it's new from beta 2, but there's a "Bold Text" option in Accessibility. Anyway IMHO the simplified and much less cluttered design of iOS 7 should make it easier for people with impaired eyesight, not worse.

Also, maybe I misunderstand your post, but having bright white backgrounds does not affect battery life on an LCD screen.

I just did a hard reboot, it went back to the the apple logo progress screen... Will see what happens, slow movement right now...

i can browse the content with itunes but the screen remains stuck

Same here fellas, I'm freaking out too. I have a small 3-4% and it hasn't moved. I've soft reset(ted?) 3 times now, and the phone returns to the progress bar. Hasn't moved since.

I would rather not hard reset unless I must.

Same situation too. I did the hard reset, and it doesn't get recognized by iTunes. Yes I'm registered developer and registered the UDIDs of my devices. The iPad update went fine, just the iPhone got bricked.
Since iTunes doesn't see it, I don't see what I can do. Anyone ? Any idea ?

This such BS...

Nothing for me either. I've tried it plugged to the computer or a wall socket, nothing changes. Still stuck at maybe 1% of the progress bar ...

I meant having to lower the brightness would increase battery life, but even lower it still lacks contrast necessary for overall use. Apple fixed this issue with the keyboard, thankfully.

Good points, however it's not the text but the buttons being replaced with text and obscure text symbols such as "<". When someone looks at text where a button once existed to distinguish it better, it's confusing. I've had my parents (in their 60's and 70's who have used iPhones since day 1), and others use iOS 7. They all found it much more confusing to navigate. Whereas those in my age demographic (36) and below picked it up very quickly.
