I agree with you! I really don't get it. What am I suppose to do with a copy/paste option on an iPhone?

I think it's because it's the only compelling feature of Windows Mobile that we don't have... you know, you hold down the little stylus to pop-up/copy... then hold it down to pop-up/paste. Very applesque feature don't you think?

Joking aside, I suppose copy/paste from/to an email or a something off of a web site could be useful...

Well, actually you can mail a link from safari, but only if you start a new email, you can't add it to existing text...

or how about when dealing with serial numbers or tracking numbers. random long strings of letters a pain to remember and whats the point of reading it in an e-mail having to write it down only to put it back on the phone is safari or in one of the upcoming package tracking apps.

Anyone who has 2.1 installed, do you know any difference so far... Thanks... We would all like to know! :)

2nd button

You can set your laptop to use two finger tap as a second button. So instead of moving your finger to the right just drop your second finger, it's just as easy.

Can we finally get cut and paste in OS X? Not going to happen. How about a 2nd button on laptops? Not going to happen. Apple is stubborn. And that's not good.

It enhances email responses; clipping and sharing information between web apps, email, document, note, contacts, calendar. It is inhibiting the release of Docs to Go and PocketInformant.

Copy and paste

For everyone who wants copy and paste on the iPhone go to apples feedback page here. Apple will not think copy and paste is wanted by the consumers unless they get a lot of feedback saying they do. So go and tell Apple whats up! :D maybe we'll see it after 2.1

Help Me!

My friend was wondering why he could not download the new beta iphone software. Also he is not a paying member just a registered developer.

I really, really hope that Apple adds GPS to the next iPod Touch revision. Just imagine how many they would sell if it could do everything that say a Garmin or Tom Tom could do and a whole lot more for the same price. I realize someone would have to make an incredible software app and that the size limitation on apps as of now could pose a problem but I just saying it would be incredibly awesome.

gps

gps would be better too if the map turned with you, I know that the map will follow you if you press the button on the bottom left, but I wish I didn't have to turn the iphone everytime I made a turn. Regular gps systems like tom tom turn the map with you so you are always driving straight on the screen

Apple will never offer GPS on the iPod Touch. Too many features on the iPod Touch and then the iPhone isn't special anymore.

The refresh rate would probably suck with the current way they use google maps. But ya never know!

take the suckiness away and bring the stability back

This software upgrade is the worst in Apple's recent history, at least for iPod touch users. I don't know if it is the same for first generation iPhones.

im glad to hear that so many are seeing the lag while in their contacts... its a bummer but at least im not alone. As far as copy/paste... it would be useful when copying text between emails that you'd rather not forward or text from a webpage. I find myself wanting to have copy/paste more and more often as i get used to using my 3G.

Also... can someone tell me how on a 3G iPhone you can select an entire email group all at once in the mail app like you can on the Mac's mail app? I have been adding each address one at a time on my iPhone whereas on my MacBook i can just select the group and it automatically copies all the email addresses. Am i missing something here?

Another vote for more stability. Anything else would be a bonus. I'm getting sick of the lag time and crashes.

Hopefully we get the update in the next couple of weeks.

The lag is extremely annoying, I completely agree

It took me almost 30 seconds to select a phone number today

on the nav systems on my cars that's an option, not the only operating method. you can also keep an up-is-north orientation if you choose. does tom tom offer only the one way?

not sure how many different methods tom tom one has, I know though that the default on mine is as I make a turn, the map follows so I am still straight, so the top of the tom tom is always in the direction I am heading.

I vote +100000 for stability back instead of adding features right now, 2.0 is very slow, unstable and drains my battery

PLEASE Apple - before you give us better GPS, copy & paste, or anything else...

...just give us a stable operating system!!! My phone is unusable sometimes. That's a crime!
