I hesitated to download beta 2 after there were reports that it broke tethering...I know people are reporting that they are worried that beta 2 expires and becomes unusable, i'm still using beta 1 and it's worked perfectly

How is that possible? I thought that beta 1 would expire after two weeks?
For the people who keep commenting on 3.1 fixing tethering/mms for AT&T.. and it being delayed for AT&T to set this up properly....
Do you realize that other countries have these functions working (without jailbreaking or workarounds)...
when AT&T decides to allow MMS/Tethering then they will release a carrier update just like every other carrier...
I imagine 3.1 is almost ready to ship out since they're onto beta 3..... and this is not supposed to be a major overhaul... 3.0 had what 5 or 6 betas?

I think AT&T wants to make it seem like it is not their fault but Apple's fault and it would require 3.1 to get MMS/Tethering to work.
3.1 will come out whenever it's ready to come out. It could still go all the way to 5-6 betas if Apple has more features planned. They seem to be rolling out a few new minor features in each beta.
i'm still waiting because I enjoy my tethering, any reports on if this beta also breaks tethering at this point?
hahah Netshare just keeps on kicking, i was asking more about using a hacked carrier file to keep it a kicking, if it doesn't then I think i'll hold off until I'm officially forced to upgrade!
Does anyone know if this fixed the problem with the iPod app freezing if you double tap the album art in portrait mode? Or if this stops the Mail App from marking mail you've already read as new and won't get rid of it until you delete it?
Well, the iPod app is still broken.
I use smart playlists (I have one setup that was my 100 most recent music added) and it just shuffles random 100 songs, instead of displaying them in proper order and displaying the right songs.
Everything was fine until beta 2, and beta 3 didn't fix it.

Glad to hear they fixed the high pitched sounds in video... but what about after sending a text message?
