Smooth4Lyfe: "NEW FEATURE: You Can Copy/Paste Videos to email"

Is that right? That would be awesome! That means emailing uncompressed video is now possible, just the same if you copy/paste photos into an email. Sweet! Hopefully they can also raise the size limit for emailing videos. 3G network should be able to handle it, or at least enable higher capacity over wifi.

Anyone know if the WiFi issues are fixed?
I still struggle with maintaining a WiFi connection on all 3 of my iPhones.
One is a 2G running 3.0 and the other two are 3 GS.
My 2G is my control as it worked great on WiFi prior to 3.0.
So I'm fairly confident the issue is with the software.

Yes, I posted this to my blog earlier.
Check out the YouTube video I posted http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArqU37cNzQQ

One thing to keep in mind, you can only send a max size of 15MB. This is just a restriction of the mail app as it also applies to copy pasting images.

Where is disk-access mode.

Where in stink is the friggin idisk app? I read about it, I buy the acct, I look for it, no app! wtf!

After that, all I need is an auto-destruct sequence and an ejection seat.

Get on it, Apple!

Unless Instruments over wifi would allow us to seamlessly access a wireless external HD as a... hmmm...

No data or details to support this, but I think this will be the final release before it goes public the first week of August. At least I hope that is what will happen.

MMS is ready, AT&T is just needing to unlock it. Tethering is just a matter of releasing details of how much money per month.

Yes, I know. That is what I meant by giving AT&T time to get it all running. AT&T is pissing me off lately!

Not going to happen natively anytime soon.

Still "coming soon" as its been states since the day it was announced.

LOL

Nope. But that idisk app when it comes out connects to your mobileme - which connects to your shared hard disks if you have an Airport :)

http://www.apple.com/airportextreme/features/harddrivesharing.html

Access your drive over the Internet.Say you’re traveling and you need a file on the hard drive connected to your AirPort Extreme back at home. If you’re a MobileMe member using Mac OS X Leopard, no problem.* You can now access all the files on your shared drive over the Internet. Simply register your AirPort Extreme with your MobileMe account, and your drive appears in your Finder sidebar just like any other attached drive. It’s like having your own personal file server wherever you go.

In General -> Usage, there's now a meter for Tethering Data as well as Cellular Network Data.

Now they just need one to be able to seperate Wi-fi data vs. 3G data.

Anybody any ideas if they've fixed the Mobile Exchange certificate problem?

This is a deeply annoying bug and must be really reducing their credibility for corporate users.

I had problems with certificates in 2.0 but never tried it in 3.0. In 3.1 I have no problems with our exchange server and active sync.

If you are running Beta 2, make sure you update your devices by midnight tonight or they will stop working.

"iPhone OS 3.1 beta 2 will expire Tuesday, July 28 at 12:00 am"

So much for 12:00 am local time (PDT), my phone nuked itself at 12:00 am GMT. Thanks Apple.

Do you not automatically pull the time from the Cell Tower?

Check Settings -> General -> Date & Time -> Set Automatically.

I am guessing that is why it went by GMT

my 3gs running 3.1b2 just went purple and when I connected it to itunes it says the os expired.

wtf apple? you couldnt have given people a 24hr grace period to update? itunes says it cant talk with the authentication server behind the stupid proxy at work so now I'm phone-less until I get home. not cool

How many times does it need to be said? You people aren't supposed to be using beta firmware on your primary phone. Period.

Don't be mad at Apple when you're using it in a way that's not recommended.

I don't know...while I do agree with that statement where no beta should be "relied" upon for primary work, there should be a little bit of a grace period. Developers don't always have to buy an extra phone/iPod to test their apps on. It's also a monetary issue to an extent. There's no reason to shell out an extra $300. I agree with the previous poster who asked for a 24-hr grace period after the new beta release. Not too much to ask.

How are you saving video on 3G when it doesn't have "legal" video functionality?
