Is Canadian english really that different?

Isn't it a mix of British and American English? Don't they use American spelling, e.g. ~ize[1], but use alternative as opposed to alternate?

[1] Although ~ize is considered US and ~ise British, the OED spells all such words ~ize with ~ise as the alternative (US: alternate :p ) spelling so that isn't strictly true. When I was at school 40+ years ago ~ize was the only spelling so that's what I use and it annoys me when auto-correct and spell-checkers tell me it's wrong

Calendar Snooze Options

Can anyone verify if the calendar snooze options in 10.8.2 have been restored to a pre-mountain lion version? Thanks.

Facebook integration

I'm curious, how do all of you who see FB integration as an Orwellian nightmare cope with Twitter integration on your Macs and iDevices?

From what I've read, FB integration will work the same way. I don't use Twitter and having it present in OS X and iOS has never bothered me in the slightest. I do use FB so look forward to this functionality.

Dedicated graphics color profile fix

Can anyone tell me if the following issue is fixed:

when the graphics switch from integrated to dedicated (e.g. when launching Photoshop) the monitor color profile is changed.

I guess you'll need to have a calibrated monitor to notice the change. But needless to say it's very annoying when doing work which requires color accuracy...

Thanks in advance for checking/replying!

Hopefully Apple will have addressed this as there must be a large number of people like me where husband and wife each have an iPhone and Mac/iPad yet only a single AppleID/iCloud account otherwise they'd have to buy music/apps etc. twice. Perhaps link messages to the email address of the user account on the Mac?

There's an easy way to solve this, my partner and I use it.

Each phone/iPad/mac should be set up with the iCloud account you want to use for iMessage, Facetime, contact syncing etc.

Then pop into Settings, Store (on iPhone, iPad) and change the ID to the one you use for purchases.

We use it at home, and it runs fine. We basically just created two "dummy" iCloud accounts using @me.com addresses that were only going to be used for iMessage, Contacts, Facetime, iCloudy stuff. Then we use my long standing Apple ID for purchases. Works a treat.

Anyone with MacBook Pro Retina is getting better OS performance? (UI transitions, scrolling, and so on)

I'd like to second this question. I read that people said there was a notable difference on one of the older previews.

I would rather see FB integration as a add-on, but not with apps native to the OS. I am actually not aware of how it will work anyaway. I like FB out of my way.

I could care less about the new integration features. It's the restored battery life - and hopefully - improved UI interface performance on my RMBP that I care about. Give us what was advertised and what we paid for.

are you sure? when i'm on my mac and look on my iPhone after a few hours, the lockscreen is spammed with iMessage nots

Absolutely sure. The notification will appear when the message comes through but then disappears when I read it on my Mac.

Sounds like a neat solution. Presumably you don't need to give these @me.com addresses to other people, just your mobile numbers, to make it all work? It would cause problems for me as my real e-mail address (which is also my AppleID) is the one i want people e-mailng me at, not a "dummy" me.com one.

running 10.8.2 and ios6 b4 (for a couple of weeks now) and imsg doesn't appear to be synching to my phone number.

Anybody msged yet? Left a report on dev forums, no reply yet

I just hope the messages update syncs notifications. Super annoying to have already replied to someone, open my mac and get the notification a second time and have to hit the clear button to get rid of it.

If they fixed that then I will actually use it.

I am not sure if I am loving the idea of getting all my messages on my mac through imessage. Now people can read and snoop on my messages. I don't want to lock my screen etc.
Disable the iMessage account on your Mac.

I think it's a great feature. I've been wanting this for years.
