Which is exactly what would be incredibly stupid.
I think they probably fixed some last bugs and released this version.
Which is exactly what would be incredibly stupid.
So do you think that means they're going to release 598? Or 603 without officially testing it at all?
Why do Macrumors need another thread for that?
Just ran an MD5 Checksum for the InstallESD.dmg that's inside the shared support folder of InstallOSXMavericks.app and got this...
Image
Anyone can confirm if this is legit...btw this came from a torrent that i got for the new build. Also, i checked the .plist and i'm getting build version "13A602" instead of 13A603.

ONLY WAY I SUCCEFULY CREATED AN USB INSTALLER FOR MAVERICKS IS FOLLOWING: http://9to5mac.com/2013/06/13/how-to-create-a-bootable-os-x-mavericks-usb-flash-drive-from-original-app-store-package/
Where did you get these MD5/SHA1 info's? did you actually run them from the installed.dmg file? and not the app?Mavericks GM Build 13A603

Me or BasicGreatGuy?I'm pretty sure this is the hash of the entire .dmg.app, not the installesd.dmg file.
The torrent I downloaded was an .app.dmg (DMG file with the Install OS X Mavericks.app inside), and when I ran openssl sha1 on Install OS X Mavericks.app.dmg I got the same sha1 hash you just posted.

btw, i did download the .app.dmg too it's just that your suppose to run the md5 for the installesd.dmg which is located under the shared support folder inside the installer.app.
Haven't used it in mail, yet. Viewing pdf has been smooth for me. MBP late 2011.Since everyone is praising super smooth scrolling in Safari, I would love to know how is it in Mail and Preview (viewing PDFs) and other apps, just as smooth?
Then you did it the wrong way. That method was only intended for developer preview 1. Since then apple have made an executable file called createinstallmedia which makes bootable usbs. For the golden master 13A603 you should do it this way:
Your 8 GB USB drive should be called Untitled and formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). The installer should be called Install OS X Mavericks.app and should be in your Applications folder.
Run this in terminal and wait about 20 minutes:
sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app --nointeraction
You should see something like this:
Erasing Disk: 0%... 10%... 20%... 100%...
Copying installer files to disk...
Copy complete.
Making disk bootable...
Copying boot files...
Copy complete.
Done.
You can then boot up from the USB by holding down the option key, then install the GM from the USB.
This is probably going to be the same for the public release.
Note that this will also install a recovery partition (which the 9to5mac method for DP1 doesn't do).
im a college student and accomblished it just finesee ur degree means nothing

He's just mad that non-developers installed it ahead of time so he's trying to scare people. He doesn't have a clue what he's talking about
----------
The scrolling has improved nearly system wide
iTunes is the only app I've used so far where the scrolling is not smooth at all when you scroll through albums
I don't believe so. If you are a developer, you should see the update in the store, from what I have read.will this get pushed out to the App Store as an update to the last GM Seed (13A598)
try looking at the info.plist inside the installer.app it would say build version is "13A602"
