I always wonder about this. Sometimes when I click the update tab, it doesn't show, then says no updates almost instantly. Then I click the update tab and it'll pop up and say it's available. Sometimes when clicking it, it'll say No update available almost instantly on click, other times it'll say searching for update for 10-20 seconds. Seems really strange. Never seen any other apps\OS work like this.

Get that behaviour too, but believe me, a restart won't do anything.

I didn't get it, just re downoaded and still not showing on update tab

strange. and you're on the Developer beta, not the public?

I didn't even have to open the App Store, after the Beta Access Utility finished installing, it auto opened it and checked for updates and there it was.

Wasn't showing up just prior to that.

yeah its dev beta and once I installed the beta utility it takes you to the download page to download high Sierra then when I press update still saying no update

bummer.

I've had that workaround work for me in the past so I figured I'd give it a shot.

One thing I'm curious about... when you upgrade to high Sierra, how does your HD file system get upgraded? Don't you normally need to re-partition your system in order to change file systems..??

Anyone not seeing a High Sierra Beta try installSeed.py

There's one requirement and that is that you need to have:

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>SeedProgram</key>
<string>DeveloperSeed</string>
</dict>
</plist>

@ /Users/Shared/.SeedEnrollment.plist

Want the Public Beta? Then use "PublicSeed" instead of "DeveloperSeed".

I'm on a 2011 i5 3.1GHZ iMac running El Capitan with no issues. But I've been really resistant to dare upgrading any higher. Anyone else try higher (and yes I know some options wouldn't be available)?

I've got a 2010 i5 27" iMac (upgraded SSD) running the HS beta on a separate partition with no issues.

I notice on my Touch Bar MBP, it seems like Apple is confused with the direction they want to go as to how the touch bar performs. In Sierra, if I pushed the brightness button and adjusted the slider, it'd go back to whatever it was doing before. Now it just sits there on the brightness selector until I hit the X to go back to the normal touchbar display. Seems counterproductive... and when Apple has taken a year to train the old way into people, now to change it seems odd.

Wow, an 8 year old iMac still crankin ehh? "I just installed Windows 10 on my 2010 Dell desktop" said noone ever. LOL

Can anyone confirm whether it is now possible to convert from HFS + to APFS with a Fusion Drive? either during installation or by logon into recovery mode and converting the Fusion Drive using the disk utility?

I have an iMac 27 inch, late 2015, with a 1 TB Fusion Drive.

I love the comments on the beta releases which can generally be summarized by answering : 1) Just hold your pants on for a day and you'll see the update and 2) It's not too buggy but it's also not perfect - be careful.

Yeah... it's kinda like walking into a house's construction site that's halfway through being built and complaining that the bathroom sinks don't work yet. The downside to offering a public beta is that people think that pre-release means first access to the final product. Apple makes it very clear as to what beta means and what the downsides are, but the TSA also makes it very clear you can't take a bottle of water through security and it never fails the guy in front of me "forgets" about the liter of water he put in his bag 20 minutes earlier. Can't help the stupidity of some humans.

Finding DP9 to be pretty ready for primetime. Haven't come across a single issue yet. Quite a good build it would seem.
Anyone found any bugs in it?
