The Finder in regular 10.9 needs fixing. It doesn't wake the Finder up until many (up to 35 seconds) to show icons (regular stock icons) in the Finder windows. So far my testing on a blank install of 10.9.1 this seems to be fixed (on a fresh install of course).

I hope this update will finally really fix the disk eject when sleeping/waking. It was supposed to be fixed on 10.8.5, but it actually became worse for me!

Mavericks has some very strange bugs or design choices that have started to irk me since release...

and please re-instate simple things like when we tag / label a folder do it like it's always done with the whole file name highlighted in colour - it made it easier to find files when scanning a folder full of them rather than this tiny little dot they replaced it with in Mavericks....

#if it ain't broke Apple - don't fix it !!!

I completely agree about the tag dots. It's now hard to tell the difference between tags, especially being 'colour blind' like me. :(

The only issue I've experienced is in Launchpad. The apps seem to get "stuck" when I lift my hand off the trackpad at the end of a swipe, when switching from one page to the next.

We need 10.9.1 FAST !!

Would never work with the new tagging, as the UI needs to be able to accommodate showing more than one tag/colour. The dot allows to show up to three tag colours at the same time.

I have noticed that Disk Utility still has lag in the animation when opening. Otherwise I guess I have been lucky that I don't experience any of the issues that others mention, and My late-2013 Retina has had none of the hardware problems there have.

It makes me feel odd... I have never been a lucky person why whole life.

Photoshop CS3 works just fine. I guess just the newer Photoshops have a problem?

Yep, only CS6 and later.

That's strange my copy of CC works fine on my 11" Air 2013 and 13" rMBP.

Have you used it long enough to be sure? I sometimes don't have issues for a week or more (9 hours of work per day), then the problems come back. So I'm sure lots of people don't even know they have the issue because they don't use photoshop long/often enough for it to show.

Finder Finder Finder Finder.

It's a mess, please fix it NOW :apple:

Preview still overwrites pictures without prompting for confirmation. Nice it saved tons of pictures in low-res without any warning. It could at least save a copy of the originals...

Also, try plugging an external display, open some PDFs and go back to the built-in display -- the Preview's windows lose their toolbars. Weird.

Finder is still a mess. Windows Explorer is way better. The only way to make Finder look and work good is using TotalFinder. TotalFinder's tab mechanism (Chrome-like) is a lot better than Finder's standard functioning (Safari-like). Who do really like opening things in a new window instead of a new tab??? TotalFinder also allows displaying dual tabs in a split-screen fashion. Really useful for moving files. I expected a decent Finder after years of OSX existence, but we still have a pretty raw filesystem browser.

6 pages of complaints about 10.9.0.

Anybody install 10.9.1 yet? Notice ANYTHING different?
Yes. And no. There are a few newly introduced bugs, however (wifi disconnects and toggling on/off doesn't have any effect).

i never upgrade to a new OS on my production mac until i absolutely have to... or unless i have a week to work through all the bugs

Unresponsive keyboard. Seriously, still no fix? I'm clean installing Mountain Lion, **** it.

Anyone else want iOS 7 style fonts and icons in OSX? It doesn't have to be a major redesign, just some minor changes to make the two interfaces more consistent.

If that happens, I will never update ever again. I'll also sell my stock for fear that Apple has turned retarded.

The option to open in new tabs instead of new windows is there. My complaint about Finder is that the file copying can sometimes glitch out over the network, but it's so much better than Windows Explorer, especially because the freaking "open with" option is always there, and you can actually change the file extensions every time.

Just use CS3 :)

The new ones have plenty of problems, mainly hogging criminal amounts of resources. CS3 used to run on an eMac...

Please fix YouTube comments.

That's YouTube's job. I am furious that they wrecked the comment system. People are spamming these all over:

lol The Lucida Grande look was beginning to look terrible. Get with the 2010s, man.

If they switch the font to that super slim Helvetia-looking font, there needs to be an option to switch it back. It burns my eyes. I'd get banned if I said what I think about that font.

Yes, I had to create some web layout mockups for a recent assignment, and I've done some photo editing too. Really strange that I haven't experienced these issues.

Wrecked the comment system?

I seriously don't think you know what wrecked means.

And that is the most annoying type of comment people on YouTube make.

Not the only way. XtraFinder does all of that, also reinstates colours for the SideBar icons and is free.

I tried Xtrafinder, but after I'd installed it none of my USB devices, hard drives, thumb drives showed up on the desktop. After I'd uninstalled Xtrafinder they showed up again.
