Well unfortunately this was the one that broke the back, my XS bricked after trying to update.
You don't know what 'bricked' means!

I've never seen a bricked Apple device, despite of some serious hardware failures.
There is always a way to restore your device from backup or the entire system via iTunes or Finder.

Android devices can brick, because manufacturers don't give you the tools for a low level restore.
Apple does, so your iDevice can't be bricked by a failed system update.

Has anyone seen what the revamped CarPlay looks like with a normal-sized screen? I've only seen pictures of the extra-wide screens. Most cars don't have screens that wide. Or at least mine doesn't.

This Beta includes hidden Terminal App, configurable Keyboard shortcuts like in macOS, full Trackpad support and Xcode for iPad!!! ... just kidding.

The release notes link to beta 6 release notes, and the URL says beta 2

The links to the release notes on the dev portal are still showing Beta 6. The software downloads are 7 though.

What Mac are you using

In my case, 2017 13" MBP, no power bar. B5 was pretty stable at first, but even with SMC and PRAM resets, it's been running much hotter in the past 3 or 4 days - enough that I started using iStat's fan rules when I never did before. I happened rather suddenly and the temps were hot enough it gave me concern. A few apps that seemed pretty stable started to wonk-out on me with crashes. B4 + Apple TV Public beta was the first combo in which Home Sharing actually worked. B5 broke that (again - it was broken in the first 3 releases while it ran well on the iPhone).

iOS 13? Pshaw...no issues to speak of.

Okay well as I've said, it was. No response to the computer, no response to attempts to get into Restore/Recovery mode, and no response to Apple's own tools. They can brick, it's just not likely.

Unfortunately this does happen, to me at least. And yes that is the only solution, per their request as they've handled numerous devices from our department regarding this. We send them back their phone and voila a new one returns while they work on the source problem, which usually never comes to light.

You must be extremely unlucky then, it is so rare few people had this, let alone more than once, it's like the chance to win the lottery twice or more.

Do you know what DFU is?

It happens, but very...VERY rare.

So as of this moment the iOS beta is two versions ahead of the MacOS beta. I don't recall there ever being so much of a gap in previous years. Interesting.

Oh yes I'm well aware of the rarity of it lol. And yes I do, I wouldn't have brought up "bricked" if it wasn't quite literally bricked. Benefits of working for Apple is no need to visit a store to get immediate servicing.
