Exactly, and why is Apple only targeting Samsung, and not all the other iPad ripoffs? Samsung and Apple should try to have a special positive relationship due to the dependance on various parts
I don't think there's a point in this, and it's true that there aren't many ways to make a tablet: a screen is always rectangular, and a touchscreen means that there are no buttons, so that's all there is: a rectangular screen. There's not much you can do to make it special.
Sure, Apple was the first to say that tablets are awesome, and everyone followed. But you have to deal with this, and instead of forcing others to stop copying you, make something that they can't copy and let the others keep making bad products, which is already the case anyway. There's no point in making your competitors hate you, especially if you rely on them for your products, and especially if there is no real point since Samsung tablets don't really compete with iPads.
And I understand that it sucks that you have a great idea and everyone copies you with no respect, and that you just want to defend yourself and make justice, but in today's world you can't really fight it. It's the natural flow of things and unless it doing real harm, it has to be left alone...
