Apple Sending iOS 5 to iPhone Assemblers at End of September, No Sign of Redesigned iPhone 5

Lolwut? a faster processor and MAYBE more MP's in the camera

there producing 30 million units for this?

its only been 16 months since the ip4 launch and 90% of the people that bought one signed a 24 month contract

so if there planning on selling 30 million units there has to be SIGNIFICANT updates/upgrades, quite obvious really....

Hello? How about all the people who are stuck with a 3GS, contract expired or about to expire? That's me...

AT&T gives out early upgrades long before the 24 month mark like crack dealers give drugs to school kids. my wife's iphone 4 line is eligible for an upgrade.

Looks like it is a time that I should start looking something other than Apple. My contract with ATT 3GS is expired. If iphone 5 truly doesn't get significant upgrade, especially larger screen, I'll be finally saying good bye to iphone and FU ATT:)

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_5 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8L1 Safari/6533.18.5)

The 4g touch was a redesign, a very nice one at that. Even if the 5g is just a speed bump, you'll still be seeing a new design from the 3g.

I'd be really curious if I was Apple, to release the EXACT same phone and call it the iPhone 5 and see how many still camp out for it. You have to wonder.

There'd be lines at every Apple Store and they would run out the first day. And then people would get up everyday at 3AM to wait in line again to get one of the 10 phones they had for sale that day. This would go on for a month or two. Even if they said the phone had no changes, the Appleonians would still do this. Apple has the type of customers that every business dreams about. It's like handing a blank check to a car salesman and say fill in a fair price for the new car.

Well I declare the story BS.

The "assemblers" have nothing to do with the IOS images all of those systems are totally managed & controlled by Apple - all the "assemblers" do is connect the devices to the systems and wait until it's finished.

Please Apple, let the craziness stop! Release the phone and we'll have less spam and constant speculation!

LOL, sad thing is, that is spot on. Maybe it could even be a 3GS re release, so a worse phone and the line up begins. I still find it weird they havent pounded their fanbase harder. Up all prices on laptops, iMacs, and mac mini's by $500. ipad up to 1k, iphone 2x as much. I thought Sony had the worst fans years ago but boy that changed.

If only Apple fans demanded better then talk about some real amazing devices and Macs. Oh well.

You must have missed my earlier post commenting on your "Apple, yesterday's technology at tomorrows price" post. That is my line and I have it patented and I am going to have to sue you. It's the Apple thing to do. :D

When I wrote that I couldnt remember who wrote that on here. I should have looked that up, now I infringed upon your patent, and must be Appled by you :(

EDIT: I fixed my earlier post, I hope we can avoid a lawsuit and just sue samsung together... for some reason.

seems bass ackwards

The technology trend, though, is for prices to decline.

Apple isn't "yesterday's technology at tomorrow's price", it is "yesterday's technology at day-before-yesterday's price".

You better patent that before somebody steals it. :D

You'll be hearing from my lawyers in the morning.

That wouldn't be a Patent, it would be a Trademark or protected by copyright.

Regardless, as AidenShaw pointed out, the logic of that statement is flawed.

look i understand that people will be upgrading from iphone 3/3gs but Apple sold only 15.7 million or so iPhones and now there producing 30 million just until the END of the year which is only 2 or 3 months away

no to mention the millions of people who bought an IP4, and if the IP5 doesnt have major upgrades thats a potential loss MILLIONS of customers

also Apple has released a NEW iphone every year during the summer ever since the first iphone, this year was the only year they broke their summer tradition...for what? just some spec boosts?, everything just hints at a newer model...

Killjoy.

If you just pay me $50 million, we can pretend it never happened. Of course you'll have to sign a NDA. In blood.

Darn it, Aiden, as I was reading this page I was going to write some (at least to me) witty retort about AppleScruff's "tomorrow's price" comment, and you stole it!

How do they actually install the OS fast and efficient on millions of units?

They use robots from the future running iOS 6

Of course. The reason theres been so many conflicting reports is because there are two phones. It all makes sense now. Some witnesses are seeing the 4S and some are seeing the 5.

There are not two phones
That would be a marketing mess
No way
