Loop? Confirmation of more Apple Watch straps coming?

Also the invite features each colour of the iPhone, as someone else has suggested. Not sure what to think about that...maybe the iPhone SE will come in every colour?

I'm just excited about the software updates. Hoping they show 9.3 material and then jump right into IOS 10 Beta invites. They need to do a full refresh of their interface, change things up. It's been a while since we've seen anything new on that front. Their hardware is plenty ready, across the board!

That isn't a jump, it's a hurdle to WWDC. Agree they need to do something about the interface but doubt they will since they did one (arguably) in iOS8. But, yeah, they need to burn the b* down and start over like OS 9 to OS X. But hopefully a lot less painful of a transition.

It feels odd that they're having an event when you think about the rumoured products. They would never have had an event for just the iPhone 5C, so is the 4" iPhone the star of the show or not? Or is the iPad the star? Or maybe Apple will surprise us all and release a second-generation Watch?

The 4in iPhone better have the same body design as the newer iPhones. It also better have 3D Touch, and every other premium feature. If it doesn't have all these things, mark it up as another Flapple (Apple flop).
It's a tricky line. Most rumors suggest iPhone SE will be priced at $450 (same price as 5s) and it's probably very difficult for Apple to bring every features and specs from $650 iPhone 6s.

It sounds like you want $550 iPhone SE (or perhaps you are even willing to pay more), but it seems market demand suggests Apple need to make it more price competitive against Android.

So are there usually leaks of new MacBooks before refreshes? As there haven't been leaks (that I know of) is it very unlikely that there will be macbook refreshes (based on previous trends)?

I could be wrong, but I had thought that Apple was specifically separating iOS marketing events from Mac marketing events, except for WWDC.

The 6/6s design is awful and this new phone will def not have 3D touch, so there you go

Yeah, it really needs to be pointed out that there are five colors in that invite. And one of them appears to be a gold to silver fade.

I wonder if Tim will take a moment to mention the FBI case to start with, maybe they've prepared a video aha. But in all seriousness, do we think this is something likely to happen or because it's an ongoing court case they can't really even mention it publicly without being liable for what is said.

It's been inconsistent. The new MacBook was leaked heavily, but the Retina MacBook Pro, thin iMac, and Mac Pro were all kept well under wraps until their announcement.

Also, if internals are being updated but the cases are staying the same, it's even less likely that we'd see a leak.

I think there is a really good chance that we'll see at least one Mac update at this event.

Why is the stock going to take a hit? It's not like Apple is booking the biggest venue in San Francisco for this. Nor has Tim or anyone else set expectations for something big.
Because the market manipulates the stock to their liking. Driving it down so they can buy more and and watch the price skyrocket.

He could get in legal trouble if he mentions the case so steering clear of it is the best way. If he mentions security as a marketing point to promote the phone, the government will be justified in kicking his ass.

Here's my try at predictions. Isn't this always fun? Let me know what you think.

iPad Predictions:
  • iPad Pro 9.7": 32GB for $649 and 128GB for $749
  • iPad Air 2: 16GB for $399 and 64GB for $499
  • Rose gold option for iPads

Apple Watch Predictions:
  • Black Milanese Loop
  • New colors for sport bands
  • One "new" type of band, perhaps nylon or similar fabric type material in a few colors (or patterns?)
  • A new design partnership, like the Hermes edition with an exclusive face
  • Perhaps a new material for watch casing, but I would say unlikely?

iPhone Predictions:
  • iPhone (SE? Still not sold on that name) 4": 16GB for $599 and 64GB for $699
  • Pretty much the same specs except for no 3D Touch (might be clocked a little lower)
  • Similar to iPhone 5s design—BUT there will be something to distinguish it

Mac Predictions:
  • Updated Macbook. Replaces MacBook Air. Has second USB-C port. Beefier performance.
  • New MacBook Pro 13". Almost as thin and light as the old MacBook Air, but with Pro styling and more ports. Outside chance that they might make it 12"? Skylake chips. Upgraded FaceTime camera.
  • New MacBook Pro 15". Thinner. Skylake chips. Upgraded FaceTime camera.

They might wait to show off new Macs at WWDC. The Mac Mini is a bit out of date (but not as old as the last cycle) and the Mac Pro really needs an update. The last Mac Pro update was demoed at WWDC so that might work. Depends how much they have to cover. I think if the new MacBook Pros have some crazy new feature or design, they may wait until WWDC. Otherwise simple updates could happen at this upcoming spring event.

I'm really looking forward to this event. My wife has been wanting to upgrade her iPhone 5 for a while and was holding out for a new 4" model. So I'm glad it's finally coming. As for myself, I'm interested in two things: new Apple Watch bands and the iPad Pro 9.7". For me, the 12.9" iPad Pro is impractical for my use—though I did like it a lot more than I thought I would when I tried it in person. 9.7" is a much better size, but I'm not sure if I'll upgrade this year. The iPad Air 2 is still a beast of a tablet. I mainly want Apple Pencil support as things like the Adobe Ink stylus don't work well with the Air 2 (wiggly lines and disconnects). So I need to figure out if that's worth the upgrade.

Plot twist: new Apple watch colors? Although to be honest, I have a hard time imaging new Apple Watch SKU's this close to an Apple Watch 2 release, if the rumors are true.

Depends what you believe. Some would say we're not even close to an Apple Watch 2 because Apple recognise there isn't a yearly upgrade demand for this category of products. I'd easily be happy living with my first gen Apple Watch for at least another full year. I think the content and the straps are what keep it fresh right now. I'd rather they didn't bring out an Apple Watch 2 until they had something brand new to bring to the market.

Even with most of the major brands having their own 'smart watch' out, still none of them seem quite sure what exactly the product is for - and that includes the Apple Watch, which I've owned since launch. Although I wouldn't want to live without one now, I couldn't exactly tell you what I actually use it for. For that reason, we shouldn't really see an addition to the line up until Apple have come up with an answer to that question, or killer new features. I do however believe they should allow developers to create third party faces, I feel like we should have that by now.

lol loop you in. I guess the main point of this 'tech' event will be new color bands

If the iPhone SE were to come in a 32 GB config...Apple has me sold. Why is it that only the iPod Touch line has the 32 GB configuration? Its the perfect amount for me. 64 GB is too much and the 16 GB is too little.
