This is kind of funny, surprising, and expected all at the same time lol. I really don't blame Apple for preempting the incoming complaints about stained cards.

This sort of reminds me when the iPad Pro 9.7 was first released, people were complaining that their new iPads were vibrating from its new four speaker sound system pumping out greater volume and bass. Sound is usually produced when something vibrates, the loud the sound the harder the vibration, right? :p

So the cards are as sturdy as the iPhones. No surprise there.

My Citi/AAdvantage card has a couple of scratches on it from sliding it across counters but has so far held up fairly well...

I got the physical card because I wanted it but in actual use I’m guessing I’d rarely use it.

The digital card in the wallet is where it’s at.

This is almost as big a joke as the $300 book with photographs of products.

It must be Jony's last design laugh - looks great, completely unusable in the real world.

And of course they had to make it white instead of "space gray" or some finish that would wear the inevitable scuffs and nicks better.

Wait, I think I just figured it out: Space Gray will be reserved for Apple Card Pro.

Do you think they’ll put out a version that is “unapologetically plastic”?

It's not the card that needs protecting, but the white finish (not that I care anymore, since all the cards in my wallet are scratched up from inserting them into card readers anyway). The American Express Platinum is made in plain stainless steel, while the Apple Card not only has a coating, but one in white, which is already impossible to keep clean.
In other words - once again something impractical designed by Jony Ive. I guess it’s his going away product, and also the thinnest Apple product possible to design.

lots of winning posts on the first page lol :D

I'm wondering who will be the first to paint it black (leaving the apple white, or perhaps painting the apple red ... or green :D)

I can’t express just how unbelievably tragic this is. No card I have comes with such care instructions. You can’t put it in a leather wallet or a jeans pocket. Where is it expected to be stored? On a cupboard shelf in its own special cas?
Maybe we need ‘Post your Apple Card set up’ thread
