is this a pet credit card? you know, like taking care of your pet rock?

You stole my joke! I bet Apple will soon sell "special wallets" to carefully carry them. Aren't they made of metal for goodness sake?

sounds like a genius opportunity to me. why not sell an apple wallet made for this card and to keep your other stuff in new condition? it would sell, i am sure of that.

My physical Apple Card will probably never leave the activation case that it came with. 1% cash back + no NFC = worthless for me.

What’s that NFC chip in the pics? Disabled?

But yeah, doesn’t anybody who gets this have an iPhone as well?

NFC isn't the chip (actually, contacts) that you see. NFC is Near Field Communications and is a contactLESS feature where you hold your card close to the terminal. Many cards have it now. It would have a symbol that looks like a radio wave.

"Due to the multi-layer coating process that gives the titanium card its white finish, Apple has detailed rules for proper storage."

...aaaaand that's how we know it was Jony Ive's parting shot.
Ive is still doing design for Apple, he just isn't directly working for them anymore. This mostly means he can design for many companies now, besides Apple.

lol.. not to toot my own horn, but only Apple can 'take care of their customers"

I thought there would have at least been a limit how far Apple would go, but i guess not

Not sure why MR decided to call them "rules," other than to stir up the hornets nest that the forums have become. They're just guidelines to clean and store the card, and they've probably had people inquiring exactly that.

NFC cards have been universal in Australia for at least a decade; 15 years even (longer than I can remember anyway). I assumed every card that has a chip would have it. Odd. It would help to protect that finish!

I swear, if someone claims "bend-gate" on this...so help me

Hah hah hah, too funny! I had this very thought when I received my physical titanium Apple Card because…wait for it…mine arrived bent. The UPS package was badly mangled and the Apple Card had a notable bend to it. o_O

Fortunately, it's very easy to order a complimentary replacement card via the Wallet app.

My UPS package was also mangled, my card was fine tho.

I wonder if you can take the white off the card and just show the titanium. Mine came UPS today but I haven’t gotten home yet to see but if the back is silver I’d like to have the front be silver too.

Ive enjoyed all the comments on this, but I legit enjoyed opening the package and activating my card. Its not only the first credit card I have got in 20 years, its a really nice looking product. Even if it is just a credit card.
