The sad thing is... the white is kind of ugly, right? When I got my physical card, I honestly thought the white part was part of the packaging and tried off and on for a minute or two to peel it off before I realized it was supposed to look like that. Because, you know, every image I remembered seeing of the physical card made it look like the whole thing was a kind of matte metallic finish, like a MacBook or something. That that would look a lot better, if you ask me.

Am I the only one who thought this?

And yeah, as soon as I realized it was supposed to be that way, my first thought (after, "oh, that's disappointing and ugly") was "that's going to start looking nasty pretty quickly."

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who thought the white layer needs to be removed.

Joke or not - I'm surprised Apple did not have this. You pay $99 for the card - the money goes to charity - and your card has a red corner on it to show you're a swell person.

I would have been so much better if it didn't have the white coating, I thought from the early pictures that it was the same metal color as all their Mac products. They should have even let you choose between space grey and silver.

Need the Pro version to get Space Grey. That or sand it off like someone on Reddit already did!

I don't see what the big deal is if the card get scratched up and a little dirty with time. It's like a patina; all my cards have it. Even though I'm not personally getting an Apple Card, if I were I wouldn't go out of the way to protect it.
