Apple Shares Details on Cleaning and Protecting Your Apple Card in New Support Document

My physical Apple Card will probably never leave the activation case that it came with. 1% cash back + no NFC = worthless for me.

No. It’s simply advice if you want to keep it looking nice. Nothing more, nothing less. The rest of the advice is the same for any credit card

It's a CC, its made to get dirty, messed up, worn out, scratched. If you treat your CC like a fine piece of china.... seriously?

Is anyone selling a protective case for the apple card yet?

And of course they had to make it white instead of "space gray" or some finish that would wear the inevitable scuffs and nicks better.

Wait, I think I just figured it out: Space Gray will be reserved for Apple Card Pro.

The sad thing is... the white is kind of ugly, right? When I got my physical card, I honestly thought the white part was part of the packaging and tried off and on for a minute or two to peel it off before I realized it was supposed to look like that. Because, you know, every image I remembered seeing of the physical card made it look like the whole thing was a kind of matte metallic finish, like a MacBook or something. That that would look a lot better, if you ask me.

Am I the only one who thought this?

And yeah, as soon as I realized it was supposed to be that way, my first thought (after, "oh, that's disappointing and ugly") was "that's going to start looking nasty pretty quickly."

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who thought the white layer needs to be removed. :)

Does it come with bubble wrap?
I have a feeling they’re just doing this to try to head off some sort of class-action lawsuit. Pain and suffering because of credit card staining. That kind of thing. There’s always a baby out there with a lawyer ready to take up a cause for cash.

You're swiping it wrong.

No you can't.
You are carrying it wrong.
OH MY GOD, THESE JOKES ARE STILL SO FUNNY!

I don't see what the big deal is if the card get scratched up and a little dirty with time. It's like a patina; all my cards have it. Even though I'm not personally getting an Apple Card, if I were I wouldn't go out of the way to protect it.
