Completed a rain-soaked half-marathon with the AirPods in today. If not for the music, I could have easily forgotten I was wearing them. Very impressed.

Since I don't use Siri through the pods, I'd love to see an Apple software/firmware update that enables these two features:

1) Ability to assign multiple custom tap functions. Say, three taps for next track, or two taps for 'volume up' and three for down (for example).

2) If the AirPods have been paired with more than one device on separate occasions (eg. Mac/iPhone), the ability for them to automatically switch the active connection between whichever device is currently playing audio.

Hopefully there's no inherent hardware limitation that wouldn't allow for these two functions.

Definitely not a fan of the ads for the AirPods. Apple Watch one is nice though.

I feel the complete opposite. I thought the AirPod ads were for creative and expressive, while the Apple Watch add had me asking "what is this about?". Didn't feel like an Apple ad.

I love how they used the AirPods as musical notes in that third ad! That's genius! And the guy dancing on the side of the car... wicked! Apple is taking their ads up a notch. Simple and catchy.

Some people have very little sense of creativity.

I love the 'notes' spot. As for the AirPods, I adore mine and I was not expecting to because the case seemed annoying to carry, but it's actually my favorite part of the package. It's light but it doesn't feel cheap, and the AirPods sound decent for the price and portability. (I just wish they were sweat-proof.)
They are sweat-proof, at least in reality, if not in warranty. Several bloggers, YouTubers, and other reviewers have intentionally and accidentally run them through the washing machine without issue. They've been submerged in water without issue.

I've been running in mine for more than a week, and three of those days I got rained on. Thursday night I got caught in a (cold) downpour for the last 3 miles. I left my iPhone 6 in the car each time, but I didn't hesitate to run with my AirPods and Apple Watch Series 2. The AirPods and the Apple Watch make a perfect team in the rain.

Those ads were awesome. I can relate because I have AirPods and sometimes I do feel like gigging(dancing) when I hear my music even though I don't. These are the best I've seen in a while. Real smooth

I think Apple is consciously aware that these don't look good when showing as a pair.
And when they do on this video, it's quick motion hides the fact that they look IMO, very dorky.

Yes, it's subjective, but to me, these AirPods look like earrings when worned together. When it's just one in ear, it looks like a headset and mike.

Interesting cause I was thinking about how that could be for diversity, but probably more to have them stand out by contrasting the glossy white with their skin color. Now if only Apple made them in black...
I agree. Especially about the contrast. I peeped that in the AirPods page on Apple site. I love mine and the way they look on me

Love my airpods.. have had them for about a week now. No issues with charging, they don't fall out, unless I really try to make them. Connections are great, sound quality is pretty good, and calls are decent.

My only complaint, just like the earpods always have, that after about 30 min of wearing them, they hurt my ears... something about the way they are shaped, or the hard plastic, just hurts the inside of my ears.

I've been trying to ignore it, hoping that maybe i'll get used to it, because the airpods are so convenient, I really like how I can make calls/listen to music using just one of them while i'm at work, and just switch them out when i need to charge them. I like the case, its light and charges pretty fast, using siri isn't as awkward as I thought it was going to be. There are a lot of co workers of mine that use dictation to send text messages already so its not like im the only one talking out loud here.

Maybe ill get used to the pain, its one small gripe.. and before, i would just use different headphones so maybe Im just not used to it yet.
Try to use them with foam covers. Will be soft for ears

The Airpods were the only real 'magical' device that came out of Apple in 2016 (sans Apple tax).
Everything else was just 'meh', or disastrous. So I'm glad these ads reflect how nice the Airpods are.

Black and RED. I'm going to grab a set because they are the smallest and most Apple centric buds. I'm still going to keep the pair of Marley Liberate BTXLs I have, but keep the Airpods with me at all times. Besides, the Liberates need to be handled with extreme care.

With that said, a glossy black or RED pair would have me at the counter tonight!

A lot of black people in the ads, but not in the top management of Apple.

I agree, but these things take time.

If somebody thinks my AirPods look "dorky", that's their problem not mine. I love my AirPods.

In this YouTube video:

there had to have been special effects to keep the AirPods in his ears.

That was the whole point. To show the audience how well these maintain in the ear with consistent activity without adjustment.

The major dispute with the Airpods isn't necessarily the sound quality or build quality, it was the fear that most were saying "I'm worried these won't stay in my ears for $160.00." The Airpods are extremely lightweight and flawlessly executed for an active lifestyle, at least for most.

I wish they made an in-ear version. Like another poster, the plastic earpiece of the earpods/airpods are not that comfortable long term for me.

well... imo ANY product that hurts me when wearing it, is basically garbage... specially if it hurts after 30 minutes, which is a short time when it come to headphones.

I get how apple stuff is supposed to be cool and all (not lately though)... but for the price of these things, you can get much better headphones. Don't get used to the pain... get better ones.

I think apple might be trying to get one up on Bose here. They are showing how pairing is so easy compared to the Bose ones and how that's apple magic! Apple are too classy to refer to Bose but the dancing is similar and ad has a similar feel imo.

Now you get to charge your phone *and* your headphones! PRACTICALLY MAGIC!
Actually, if you brought them to medieval lord in feudal England and played some tunes in his ears, he probably would think they were magic.
