What about all the waste from ordering it online separately and all the packaging unnecessarily wasted to ship it on top of carbon from delivery services? Or all the carbon put into the air driving a hour to your Apple store just because you decided you really did need that extra charger?

Or the increase in 3rd party ac adapters and the dangers of fires?

exactly. everyone here saying just go to target and buy one for $5. what is the difference here? they are available everywhere regardless. why should we have to pay for something that should come included in the box in the first place. if apple really cared about the environment, they would offer a discount to people that don't need it and don't include it. for those that need it, let them add it on for a cheaper price than the retail cost they charge.

Why include a band? What if someone wants a different band, then they have to throw the included band out? Should be just the watch, no band. All the waste!
well people are saying NO adapter is okay, but man don't take my cable! it's the same damn thing lol

And when those users eventually retire these gadgets, those chargers accumulate. There just needs to be a way to return a few of them back to you. One way to achieve this is to ask the people getting the devices from you whether they actually need the charger. Another is of course eBay.
Or I've always traded in my old device for new, and they never want the accessories. In the beginning it was regular trade ins, and then later installment trade ins.

Don't mind the iPhone cases and Watch bands in a million colors selling for $39.
That people only buy if they want/need them.

I haven’t used the Apple-supplied chargers that came with my Apple Watch, iPad Air, or iPhone 8. I’m happy that they’re unbundling the charger from the device, so you can buy one if you need it.

What they should have done is included a $25 (canadian pricing) apple accessories credit with purchase. That way, if you need a power adapter, it comes included with the price. If not, I'm sure most would use it towards something like a watchband, in which apple still wins, because someone would be justifying purchasing an additional accessory that they might not have bought otherwise (and I assume the profit margins are very high on).

That's true.. but the problem for me is that you still have to get 1 adapter for your laptop, 1 for your tablet, 1 for your phone (possibly the same as either the tablet, or the same as the watch) and 1 for your watch, as they are all different wattage ratings?

You can actually use one power adapter for all 3 if you so wish. Although that will depend on the laptop mostly.

I have a Macbook Pro with USB-C, iPad Pro with USB-C, and iPhone and Apple Watch (and others). Literally all of those can be powered by a USB-C power adapter (the 87 watt one included with the Macbook Pro). It's just a matter of having the right cable. There also is a USB-C Apple Watch cable, but there are also USB-C to USB-A adapters that make it a cinch to use the USB-C with anything USB-A.

The different wattage affects things, it means use enough wattage for the laptop primarily.

I can already see a family of 5 wanting to charge their watches with 1 available charger...
C'mon lol.

So you are assuming that a family of five without any iPhones or any other devices that have a USB charging cable (and thus a connection to a power outlet) are going to buy five Apple Watches (which mostly still need at least one iPhone)?

Because you don’t need a wall plug to charge your watch. It’s that simple.

I am actually a bit annoyed by this - why dont they get rid of the charging cable as well? I already have three or four charging cables so dont need another one when I upgrade the Watch.

Not that big of a deal, I already replaced most chargers with Anker Dual-USB chargers because of the so many devices we have. And I got spares. Less waste is a good thing. Of course, they should give you a coupon off buying one :p

Why do you have to order one? You can use any brick you already have in your house, you could plug it into 99% of laptops or desktops and charge from there, you could buy one in any store, literally almost any grocery or convenience store has them. And you can buy one, and use it for life. Literally I have not had a brick die on me yet, as long as I can replace the cable.

Let’s see hold device to included charger no charge, plug included cable into any charger magic happens. Yeah not the same. You have posted a dozen times on this thread. Most questionable, are you ok?
your statement doesn't even make sense. and i can't respond more than once on a thread? lol thread police now, nice

why even include a cable then?
If your device has a standard port (USB-C, previously micro USB), you can leave out the cable. Less so if your device requires a special connector (as the Apple Watch does). Apple considers Lightning a standard port, if I remember correctly, Airpods come without cable.
