No thanks, the protruding cam hasn't been an issue. With sapphire it's almost impossible to scratch and I'd rather have an excellent cam than a flat back for no reason.
Besides: 0,2mm wouldn't be enough anyway.

I'm really bored with my 6 months old iPhone 6..but not sure if the 6s really has anything extra to offer over 6..
Wish at least they improved the battery instead of including useless stuff like force touch.
What? Battery life is awesome on my 6.

Apple is starting production on its next-generation iPhones, reports Bloomberg, and the new models are equipped with Force Touch capabilities. Force Touch, first introduced with the Apple Watch, is a feature that's able to distinguish between a light tap and a harder press, enabling a range of new gestures.

The two new iPhones will retain the same 4.7 and 5.5-inch display sizes, with an exterior design that's largely unchanged. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested the addition of Force Touch could make the iPhone 0.2mm thicker, but it is unclear if that rumor is accurate.

Because the design of the new iPhones will remain the same, Bloomberg's sources believe final assembly will go smoothly, but caution that production volume could be impacted by the supply and yield of displays for the devices. Apple has been working to add Force Touch across its product lineup since unveiling the Apple Watch and has thus far incorporated the feature into the trackpads of the Retina MacBook and Retina MacBook Pro.

Apple is expected to debut its next-generation "iPhone 6s" and "iPhone 6s Plus" in September. Other rumors about the device suggest it could include an improved camera, 7000 series aluminum, and a new rose gold color option.

Show of hand if you can toggle off Force touch how many people here would do that

*crickets chirping...*

Huh, I guess you picked the wrong place to find people that DON'T want to use awesome new tech & feel more connected to their devices, due to a newly designed form of haptics. You might want to try over at the Luddite forum, I'm sure they'll agree with you. I believe their war cry is "no new feature is a good feature!".

can't wait. i'll be returning to iphone with this release. last one i properly owned was a 4S. what a great phone that was.

Well my contract is up September... no idea how that happened to coincide so well :)

Looking forward to the upgrade whatever it entails

Yeah, just like I am laughing at everyone who buys a new phone every year. This has got nothing to do with standards, it has got everything to do with preference – I don't like phones that big and I will not buy one. Your whole ideology is flawed if you judge people on the phone they are using. Snob.

I would NEVER judge someone based on their phone...
You CAN however tell some things by it. Thinking someone with a flip phone is "old-fashioned", for example is NOT standing in judgement... it's using common sense. If I saw you using a modern phone that is smaller than most flagships... say, an S5 mini or something, I wouldn't think they were cheap or anything- just like a smaller phone! However, if I saw someone from my generation (over 20, under 40) using a six year old smart phone... it would slightly pain me. I'd be curious what their problem is. I wouldn't immediately assume they're fresh out of jail & found it in a dumpster or anything, but I'd certainly recognize that there's some weird mental hangup going on. I'm pretty sure my grandmother doesn't use the same phone for six years... & with smartphones, your behavior is DEFINITELY eccentric. Someone noticing your odd behavior doesn't equate to them "judging" you.
You have to recognize that if you do something that strays from the "norm" that most are used to, you're inviting some small amount of curiousity & conversation, yeah?

one touch too bored now apple bring force touch that mean we have to touch 2 times to enter appss and link others- i dont see any good force touch can do so far -

iphone 5C - Force touch - ios 7-8-9 - apple watch - all of these related 1 person idea

Am I the only one who's most excited about the prospect of the iPhone getting slightly thicker again and having a non-protruding camera lens?

I'd be delighted if they got rid of that. One of the reasons I keep my 6+ in its case is so I can lie it flat. It'd be nice to have it nakit again. I'm also interested to see what could and will be done with force touch on the phone.

sounds more like something you use or you don't. can't toggle off a hardware update.
Really? You can toggle off WIFI, cellular, rotation, bluetooth, and a myriad of other hardware features. Every hardware feature is tied to a piece of software code. I don't see any reason why there couldn't be a Force Touch off/on toggle. When toggled off, the OS ignores the long touches. Seems easy enough.

Never thought they would've done this on the 6S.
I'm fine with this, 2GB ram and a WAY better camera.

But IF and only IF they lower the absolutely obnoxious over-price AND have a real black option instead of the ugly lame grey or couch potato gold options.

I'm still using my 5s and hope Apple produces another 4" iPhone in the future.

By this point most have moved on to larger screens and I doubt the few that claim they can't handle anything larger then 4" will eventually move to a 4.7" screen. At that point it is just not worth engineering a smaller version anymore. I doubt enough would want to go from a 4.7" to a 4" screen at this point to make it worth it. My guess is the current 6 will be the introductory model and the 6S and 6S Plus will be the new phones. I know some will kick and scream all the way, but what else are they going to do? Get an Android phone with a smaller screen (which would be an introductory model) I seriously doubt it.

Still use my 4s as a daily driver. Bought new 3.5 years ago. Still looks like it just came out of the box. Still has original battery. Best part though - it's still jailbroken. So I've skipped the 5, 5S, 6, 6+ and will continue to skip over the 6S, and 7. Maybe I'll be ready by the 7S. Maybe not.

So, what's your point really? I'm using a 3GS, so I guess I beat you hey! Its great that we've got old phones, but I'm not going to say its comparable to the future 6 in any way. there are many deficiencies I'm aware off and I just live with. It just suits my basic needs. But, I'm finally upgrading this fall.
I do own an Air 2 though.

i just don't get what toggling it would do, doesn't seem similar to wifi/BT - which are active battery drains.. you either press down harder to activate force touch or you don't. like disabling the right click on your mouse: i could see how a mouse maker with a physical right button could do that, but i can't think of any that do... maybe i'm missing the nuance of what you mean.
