Ok Apple just issued an official statement and breaking news saying there will be no iPhone 7 Plus available for walk-ins tomorrow morning,
"Apple has issued a statement advising that it has completely sold out of the Jet Black iPhone 7 and all versions of the iPhone 7 Plus, thanks to pre-orders. It adds that ‘limited quantities’ of other finishes of the 4.7-inch iPhone 7 will be available to walk-in customers tomorrow.

We couldn’t be happier with the initial response to iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, and we are looking forward to beginning sales through our retail stores and partners around the world.

Beginning Friday, limited quantities of iPhone 7 in silver, gold, rose gold, and black will be available for walk-in customers at Apple retail stores. During the online pre-order period, initial quantities of iPhone 7 Plus in all finishes and iPhone 7 in jet black sold out and will not be available for walk-in customers."

I guess everyone that was planing to camp out tonight to buy a Plus Model is out of luck

Nothing surprising.

And JB will be a hot item for a while. And that's the least surprising of all.

That sucks. Is anyone still planning on going and waiting and hoping for the best?

i dont think theres really any point to camp out for a Plus Model, i mean Apple is clearly saying that no Plus models of any color of any storage size will be available for Walk-ins, Or am i not reading the article correctly?

I suppose if you were looking for a plus or jet black then there is no point to even try. If you want to chance it for whatever reason, I'd be the first couple in line or there is no point. It's possible carrier stores might have few but unlikely. Again, I would go wherever you can be the first in line.

How soon do Apple stores start receiving more stock to sell? If I remember correctly, when we were looking for a 6 for my wife a couple years ago, it seemed like Apple stores were getting more stock almost daily. So maybe more phones could even arrive to Apple stores on Saturday morning?

I don't know how many apple stores you have, but there are three in Atlanta with Lenox Mall being the busiest, followed by Perimeter and then Cumberland Mall.

Last year was the first year I tried Cumberland. There were so many jerks there. And the couple of guys in line behind me were buying up all the rose gold ones just to ship and sell elsewhere. There were talking to their broker asking how many to get and how much they're going for. I hate scalpers!

Daily. However, I assume preorders would get fulfilled first. Otherwise that'd be unfair.

If they do like before, it went something like this. If you missed your reservation by x amount of time, your phone went in the pool for walk-ups. Not sure if they're doing that again. Sometimes it pays to wait.

Yea it's also unfair though that they're playing favorites with IUP users. Numerous IUP customers pre-ordered hours after me and many others for the same model and got later shipping dates, yet are getting contacted by Apple offering them one in stock. Unless I am misunderstanding why IUP people are getting contacted.

I would also recommend to try your best to find out when deliveries come in to your local store. They are typically pretty good about checking in their inventory pretty quickly after they receive stock. And just hanging out at the store for a while, or jumping in the line.
If they know that they won't have pluses the following day either, they will either post a sign or they will tell people as they start to line up.

just to make my self feel better, I'm pretending the first batch has some hardware issues that I'll be dodging. loll

that's what I usually run into whenever I pre-order phones and camera gear.
Watch it come true. Like it blows up when in the vicinity of the S7, just to one up the S7

So any of you guys still going to camp tonight in hopes to get a matte black Plus model 128gb tomorrow morning even though Apple released that press statement in the morning saying they won't be selling any Plus models to walk-ins?

I'm already in line. 3 different people in the store have told me they will have 'limited stock' of Pluses for walk-ins. Many people at this store recognize me and know me. Now, they could be woefully mis-informed, which is always a possibility, but I doubt they wouldn't blow smoke up my rear just to let me sit in line for 20 hours. ;)

Are you outside an Apple Store? Which state?

Just spoke with a friend at a large apple store in Los Angeles. They will not have plus models at all for people. Only regular 7s for walk in.
If larger volume stores aren't getting pluses.... I would take that information, along with the official statement, and not waste your time and resources waiting in line lol. Just wait until they open reservations again.

Boulder, CO.

A person of authority in the store did a stock check on what they would be receiving, and they'll have zero Plus models. So, guess I'll be checking the website every morning at 8am.

Ah, well.
