On my BenQ, the cable is fixed and non-replaceable. There are a few different variants, so maybe it is on some of them, but not the Halo.

I think the OP needs to use a USB-C adapter instead.

I checked the standard ScreenBar manual, which is what I believe the post I replied to was inquiring about:

However, I did also link to a USB A-to-C adapter that would also work.

Yes, the BenQ ScreenBar has detachable USB cable. The ScreenBar Plus, while detachable, it's a custom cable made by BenQ the splits between USB-A and USB-C and it's not replaceable. The ScreenBar Halo has not detachable USB cable.

Thanks for clearing this up! Gotta say, I think they are headed in the wrong direction with the permanently-affixed cables.

In my case it was an easy fix after getting a USB 3.0 Extension Cable. Also, I'm not plugging the ScreenBars Halo into my ASDs. Instead I have them plugged into an ANKER Dual USB Wall charger which is plugged into a Lutron Caseta Dimmer so I can turn my ScreenBars Halo with Siri, Alexa or my Lutron Caseta Pico remotes.

I've wrapped the excess cable of the BenQ Halo round the VESA mount screws then used a small USB-A to USB-C extension cable, which is connected the Studio Display itself.

Anyone hooked up their M1 Mac Mini to the ASD? How well does it perform?
Mines on a M1 Mac mini. Beats the 4K lg monitor I was using by miles. Personally think it’s a quality product..my only complaint and I have said a few times is only one input

Thanks for the feedback on the M1 Mac Mini. I was hopefully for an M2 Mac Mini, but I'll have to look at getting one of those another day when they are launched.

For now, I have my Studio Display, ready for when my M1 Mini arrives.

I’ve got the M1 Mac Mini with a Studio Display on the way. Wish I was in your shoes with these delays 🥲 but can’t wait!

Luckily a retailer in the UK (a good one at that) have them in stock for next day delivery. Comes with a 2 year warranty as well which is a bonus.

I buy all my apple products (except phone) from John Lewis, the 2 year guarantee is what sells it for me

I am now the proud owner of two ASD's. But I have a question for the group. How can you tell MacOS which camera to pick as the main camera for FaceTime, teams, etc?

I also have a pair of ASDs and “most of the time” FaceTime and Zoom remember which camera was the last one you used but sometimes, like 1 out of 10 times, the cameras get switched then you have to make the camera selection again. Not a bit deal if your ASDs are both in landscape mode and at the same distance from your seating or standing position but in my case one of the ASDs is in portrait mode so that camera has a totally different viewing angle. Like I said, not a big deal…

How do you select the camera to use?

How do you select the camera to use?
In FaceTime just select the camera you want to use. You will know which one is when the green light turns ON in your ASD camera. You have to try both because the cameras names are the same: " Studio Display Camera"

Thanks for that info. Last question for now. With the BenQ screenbar how did you get the screenbar to not cover the camera? Or did you just slide it over a bit? I was able to find a tiny (2mm) plastic shim and stuck it underneath the mount which raises the bar just enough so it's not covering the camera but still hooked on the display. Wondering if there is a better way. I may also just command strips to anchor it down

I have an XDR and a pair of studio displays for the sides on order. Do I want to use the studio displays for sound L and R or would a pair of HomePod minis sound better?

Just received my SD yesterday, after testing it a bit, I noticed a slight pink/red/warm hue on the right side of the screen when I look at it from the center. If I move towards the right side which has this color shift, I don't see anything! I mostly notice it with bright/white backgrounds, I don't really see anything with darker backgrounds. Also if I move the SD a bit further back, it gets hardly visible, so I guess it changes with viewing angles/distance.

Is this standard IPS glow or something? Does it have something to do with the glass coating? Has any of you noticed anything like this on their SD or am I just being paranoid?

Attached a picture of it, although it is not as visible as shown here, but it is there.

What app are you using to test the display?

Unfortunately you can’t split L and R between a pair of ASDs. The best you can do is create a Multi Audio Device in Audio MIDI Setup and add the pair of ASDs but in this case both, left and right channels will come out of both ASDs. Also you won’t be able to control the volume with your Mac volume control, only with the software volume control you will be using at the time.

The sound in the Studio Displays are probably fairly good for being display sound.
But my old desktop speakers beat the SD by far. So go for HP Minis.

If I got a pair of HomePod minis would I be able to control volume from keyboard?
