Hi, I got my Studio Display yesterday and it runs Version 15.4 (Build 19E241). My 14" MBP running macOS Monterey 12.4 says that Firmware Update 15.5 is available for the Studio Display, but when I try updating through System Preferences, I get this error message:

Apple Studio Display firmware update could not be completed. Make sure Apple Studio Display is connected to Mac and try again.

I've seen users online with a similar error message but not this exact one. I've tried restarting my Mac, using a different cable to connect my Mac to the Display, and keeping my Mac opened and closed.

Edit: I decided to try updating it with my other Mac (M1 MacBook Air also running macOS Monterey 12.4) and the update worked with this Mac on the first try. So I guess it was some sort of issue with my M1 Pro 14" MacBook Pro.

Reboot the ASD unplugging the power cord and make sure you have the ASD connected with the original TB cable into your MBP and not into a Dock.

Anyone else’s USB-C ports on the Studio Display randomly go out? It fixes with a reboot but is a little annoying.

I can control the volume of my one HomePod mini from my keyboard but I've heard they don't make good dedicated computer speakers. Maybe that got addressed in a software update since I heard that though.
I guess I'll just keep continuing using my SoundSticks II. They are old as crap but still sound great and work perfect.

Could someone with the standard tilt stand do me a favour - what’s the height from the desk to the top row of pixels? Trying to see if I can get away with the tilt only stand with an IKEA monitor riser. Thanks!

I don’t know how to control them but my stereo pair of minis work really well with minis

Good Morning guys! Quick question before ordering mine, which solution are you using for a 2nd display? I was thinking for the time being of just using my iPad Pro as sidecar display.

How are you all doing?

Anyone have their ASD next to a new 14/16 MBP? Do the screens look good together with one being 120hz/XDR and the other 60hz normal?

I found universal control to actually be more useful in my case. I keep mail, messages, and other apps open on the iPad, and it frees up my computer and display.

I should be getting my ASD today. It’s a nano and I have a question
I know you can only use the supplied cloth.
But is using an air blower ( hand pump kind-same one used to dust camera sensors) ok to use to remove dust?
I assume it is. But wanted to double check

Thanks

If I order an ASD online using funds in my Apple Account, and then one becomes available locally, can I easily cancel the online order? Will the funds in my Apple Account get "removed" as soon as I place the order?

If you mean your Apple Card, then no. After you cancel your online order, funds will be reversed back to your Apple Card in 2 days.
