This happened to me at some point. Go to Audio MIDI Setup and you can right click on a device to select it to play alerts and sound effects. Make sure your Studio Display is selected.Anyone on the Mac OS 13 beta with the studio display not getting notification sounds come through? I can play sound but when notifications come in I don't hear anything.
You severely overpaid for a Cinema Display.Sold my Cinema Display after 4 weeks of light use. Even though I can afford it I have a hard time with a display with a 1600$ price tag. Ordered a 27” 4k dell for 350$ with built in ethernet. I love the Cinema Display, but I think it should be half the price.
Definitely overpaid. $1600 for a 20 years old Cinema DisplayYou severely overpaid for a Cinema Display.
I agree. Had my ASD for a few weeks now and although I love the sharpness of the screen (for text work), the 27" size, and the ease of use, the black levels are very poor. When watching a film in low light there is simply not enough contrast to be able to see much, photography work has the same problem. Upping the brightness makes everything a washy grey, lowering the brightness makes everything a washy dark grey. I won't return my asd as I love it for everything else and there's not really much of an alternative I believe. I hope to buy a new 14" mbp soon which I could use when I want deep blacks (although on a much smaller screen, but oh well, can't have it allThe biggest drawback is the black level which IMHO is poor even by edge lit LCD standards and while it looks fine during the day it can look severely washed out in the low light of evening so it's for this reason I am going to return this display and wait for the Mini LED version.
XDR seems to have much better blacks, if money is no objectI agree. You won’t like the artifacts created by dimming zones for Photoshop, especially in areas of high contrast. Until OLED is ready, the Apple Studio Display is perfect.I agree. Wait, what?I know you can only use the supplied cloth.
The nanos do.The Studio Display's didn't come with a cloth, right? I don't recall seeing anything in the box....
I think they only come with the Nano-textured versionsThe Studio Display's didn't come with a cloth, right? I don't recall seeing anything in the box....
Only for the Nano texture you should use this special cloth not to harm the texture. And for the Nano you should get a cloth.Wait, what?
Am I going to get arrested and thrown in front of Apple's cloth police if I use something else?

I would never go for a 4K display, especially at 27", even if it's cheaper since it's a bad experience on macOS since it doesn't scale well at 4K 27". macOS expects a 110 PPI or 220 PPI display. Anything in between is just a bad experience as explained here:Sold my Cinema Display after 4 weeks of light use. Even though I can afford it I have a hard time with a display with a 1600$ price tag. Oh, I’ve learned something today. Thanks.Only for the Nano texture you should use this special cloth not to harm the texture.
It’s actually a Mac Mini mounted underneath. The standing desk legs and drawer are from a company called Fully. I purchased the solid wood butcher block top separately. Here’s the links:Is your Mac Studio underneath your table ? And from where did you get such a table ?
That's a really nice setup.Just came in today! Very happy 💙
Wide border of screen ;-0Anyone running two displays, how do you like it? Any cons?
hehehe I got it, dude. I'll be looking too. Please, check me if you found.I need to find a standard VESA eventually to add to my setup. Anyone still able to get these through Best Buy?
