Yeah except sync your iPhone, attach an external hard drive, connect a camera or video camera, download a file off the net, multitask, etc.

Quoted again ... it's ALMOST there, but still can't replace a laptop or serve as a sole computer ...

Would be great if you children out there can expand your vocabulary beyond FAIL and EPIC FAIL. You sound like morons despite the fact that you probably have some intelligence. Quit using the stupid catch phases and be original.

Am I in the Twilight Zone??? THIS IS NOT a revolutionary product.

It's a giant iPod Touch with a built-in ebook reader and iWork support.

And it costs $900 for a decent size (64GB) with 3G.

NO WAY

No multitasking and no camera for video conferencing. That's a bummer. I sure was hoping to be able to use multiple applications on it at the same time. This is a neat product with a great potential, but I may skip and wait for iPad S. :)

Funny how everyone was saying it's horrible, but once they saw the price, they wanted one.

$500 is for the base model with ONLY 16GIGS!! If you want the model with 3G, it's almost $200 more, plus some money to ATT every month.

I think I'll save my money and buy two new iPhones in the summer.

1) How is $150 "almost $200 more"? It's 25% less.

2) The Nook is $350 and only comes with 2GB RAM and is only an e-Reader

3) 3G service is NOT a contract. You can buy it when you need it and then cancel when you don't. So it's not $30 to ATT every month. It's $30 to ATT every month you need 3G service.

4) If you never need 3G then you are not forced to pay for the radio. You can just use Wi-Fi.

Mark your calendar. The Kindle and Nook death watch began today. It will be a cult product a year from today.

No camera??? Are you kidding me???

No camera??? Are you kidding me???
Apple has some serious nerve not putting a camera on a device that's supposed to "bridge the gap" between MacBooks and iPhones which BOTH have cameras.

Very disappointed.

Jumbo iPod touch. No thanks.

LOL at people trying to reason that this is great because of the lowest price point.

My only request...let me tether this device with my iPhone and leverage my existing Cell contracts.

Bingo! I'm only using about 50mb per month of my "unlimited" data. And did I really see that correctly -- is there a USB dongle for 3G connectivity? Or was that trying to show "old tech?" If it were a dongle, AT&T should give it to us for free. After all, they already give us the shaft for free.

Well at least Apple did not screw the little people who do not want a contract.

I wished they would have released it today ):
But then again it's not magical.
