Just a cry to stay relevant for those in Apple who don’t have the TV gig yet accomplished. Guys like Cue and pretty much anyone on the business side have too much time in their hands and unlimited budgets, so start doing things that they think are cool and neat to them. They then try and tell and sell the general public that this is also cool and neat.

The chance to get movie stars and tv stars working for them is something then that they get personal ego boost from so that they keep their personal rep in the industry also up.

Johnson probably gets a cool $500k for about 4 h of work and what will end up as 15 minutes of one liners.

Aside from any of this, what's with the current trend of putting an X between merged identities? It looks weird.

The only place I've ever seen this is on some fanfiction sites where the story previews show things like BobxGeorge to show they're going to be a romantic couple. Maybe Siri is about to finally settle down with someone.

I don't know where it started, but I first started to see it about 10 years ago when Japanese streetwear brands would collaborate with each other, like Bape X Undercover. That type of clothing got popular in hip hop, so by no coincidence rap songs with multiple artists started using the X to signify a collaboration. Then it started to get used everywhere. But before the mid 2000s, it wasn't ever used, so I think it originated with the fashion brands that used it.

But they could have borrowed the idea from somewhere else. I imagined that it might have been used instead of the word "by" in high fashion, like "collection name" x "designer" but that's not how it's used in pop culture. It's used in place of "and" which is weird, should just be a + if they want a symbol..

If it's a fun version of a bmw short film, I guess it could work. Although it might work better if they simply released it as a surprise and not do an announcement ahead of time that just leads to people mocking them...
