There's an opera, and now this.

*barf*
Apple has nothing to do with the opera just like they have nothing to do with what you create using Final Cut Pro for instance.

As far as this video, it's simply an extended commercial for Siri in advance of the new Siri improvements already announced that will be released with the new iPhone in a few months.

This is a short video no different from the short videos they show at the beginning of WWDC. It's on Youtube and promoting Siri in a fun way. Not sure why so many people don't understand the content strategy nor obvious tongue in cheek nature of this release.
It's different. 1. Budget is higher. 2. It's advertised for general public consumption vs WWDC had no advertising + it's meant for the developer audience. 3. It's a self contained story line instead of part of an event.

I'll reserve judgement, but I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea.

If it's funny and doesn't take itself too seriously, it could be a good marketing exercise.

After the failure of Baywatch (domonstrating that 'the rock' is nowhere near as hot as 'the hoff') 'the rock' has stooped to this. Also, Apple is funding it!!!

Whaaaaa?!?!? IMO Apple shoulda remained a 3rd party app. It was never a killer feature... unless you count this frigging annoying sound playing (and hijacking your screen) when you're trying to unlock your phone on the basis that everybody wants to 'kill' that feature.

I will never talk to my phone. Just accept it, it's a niche feature that never needed system-wide integration!!!

Apple has now become the company that just does stuff... like Microsoft under Ballmer.

There is no reason for it, it makes no sense, but we have too much money laying around so let's give it all to marketing and let them do stuff for no reason and without any aim.

STEVE SAID IT BEST (starts at 00:19)

Steve was so right about this, but wrong about the new CEO.

Guys according early review leaks, this movie is going to be big. Most are saying this will blow movies like Dunkirk out of the water. Like major early Oscar buzz. So before you bash, watch the movie first. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

I get it’s not an actual movie, but I really don’t get why Apple does things like this. Even for promotion, it just lacks taste. Go back to simple messages.

I admit that this is WEIRD, but it looks to me that Apple is kind of poking fun at cheesy SciFi and car chase movies Lol. The point of this marketing is to be FUNNY and purposefully corny.

At least their products and services are still top notch. The company wasn't perfect under Steve's leadership and isn't perfect now.

Planet of the Apps, Carpool Karaoke... And this aren't my cup of tea, but oh well.

There are no words but one: cringe.

Had to check the calendar to see if it was April 1st.

Steve was so [...] wrong about the new CEO.

You have to remember, Steve didn't know (for sure) he was going to die when he gave away the CEO position.

He wanted someone at Apple that was not a threat to his reign, someone he could control if he got better.

I don't believe anybody ever thought Tim Cook has any sort of vision or passion for products.

Aside from any of this, what's with the current trend of putting an X between merged identities? It looks weird.
