Whatever it is, this place will be full of negativity this time tomorrow, I've no doubt about that ;)

Absolutely! Goes without saying. If they release a shiny, new Red "Widget", everyone will complain it's not blue, or it's not red enough...LOL

I can't imagine they will let you upload your entire library. I think they will let you download or stream all of your purchases. My guess is it will cost $ to have access to your old purchases, but any purchases in the future will include persistent access.

The problem with this is I have a bunch of CDs I have ripped that I would hate to lose. So while I haven't bought a CD in a year or so, I need to access them and can't see how Apple is going to let me upload 500 or so CDs to their server farm.

Also, is the grammar wrong in that title? I'm no good with zee grammarz, but shouldn't that 2nd line follow from a semi colon or a comma, but not a full stop since "That you'll never forget" isn’t a correct sentence?

To be grammatically correct you'd use nothing at all. Apple are not a company to let proper language convention stand in the way of a good idea though - hence mucking around with punctuation, as well as mixing cases and removing spaces.

Parsing it differently, it could be a complete non-announcement:

Statement 1: "Tomorrow is Just Another Day." (ain't that true)

Statement 2: "...and That is something You'll Never Forget after all this hype. :p"
Would be perfect for April 1st :)

My prediction:

1) Massive world-wide foreplay, until 10:00 EST

2) 10:01 - Where's the kaboom? There's supposed to be an earth-shattering kaboom.

You Earth creatures make me SO angry!

somehow just connects back to your home machine

Could augment current "load by wired tethering" with streaming & buffering content from home - maintains current behavior while adding new access capability while respecting networking issues. Enhancing the buffering, the Genius feature could predict which songs etc. you will want to access, and pre-load them via streaming.
Balances out the "only what I have, so I want everything on-board" vs. "access everything at home, subject to streaming difficulties/costs".

Now consider that NetFlix alone accounts for some 20% of network traffic...

Just another day sounds like a Beatles song title.

My guess: Beatles coming to iTunes and a special Beatles iPod Touch, with all their movies preloaded.

Probably cloud based service, just like many others on this thread have said. My guess is that it will be integrated into mobileMe, perhaps leading to free mobileMe service? One can hope...

I really hope this is right. The big G use free cloud services to bring people into their products and there is every reason to say Apple should do the same, trying to add at as much value to help build a closer relationship with their customers.

Can someone explain cloud based iTunes? I have no idea what this would be implamented for. There's no way Apple is going to store my 60gb's of music on their servers to stream.

Call me skeptical but I can't see this being anything I'd use.

All I want out of iTunes is wireless syncing (basically free mobileme)

Beatles? I doubt they'd hold a major event for that...? I mean, they're okay, but I can't see a major announcement to peddle their crap...

The Beatles music is not crap...at least from Revolver onwards. But I doubt this announcement is about the Beatles, and since I have their remastered collection, I really don't care.

Nothing gets uploaded!

Imagine every single song available for 10/15/20 a month. You won't be paying for 3 albums 4 albums etc you will have EVERY song available on the itunes library.

Seriously guys!? Spotify have done this for years.

Maybe it's all content available globally. That would be big news because it would mean that they got the record labels to agree to global distribution of their content. As it stands right now, a lot of iTunes content is country-specific.

This would be nice. ...

How about an iTunes Store name change? After all, it's not just tunes anymore.

But I think a store name change fit the bill more.

How exciting! I would love a music subscription service. Glad to see Apple releasing new stuff all the time.
