Mac OS X Lion, well that would be interesting. I am still running Leopard. There are programs that I use that are still unavailable for Snow Leopard. NOW we have Lion, what a cut in what programs to use.

It doesn't feel like Snow Leopard is that old, but here's hoping that we get another $30 upgrade path. (Doubt that'll happen though.)

Anybody else feel just a tiny bit sorry for Microsoft - they just had the WP7 launch, media interested and the blogs full of Microsoft for a while and then along comes Apple with this announcement and now for the next week all the blogs will be counting down to the Apple event.

MAC OSX 10.7 will introduce a new cloud based bi-directional streaming service called Thundercats. Thundercats, THUNDERCATS, I/OOOOOOOOOOOO!
I wonder if they're going to use the vertical control buttons for all future UI for 10.7, as they did in iTunes.
I was trying to think of a path they could take on naming 11 and never though of constellations...nice one!

Cool, however, you think they would've saved Lion for last and went for something like, oh, I dunno, Mac OS-X 10.7 Ocelot? Cougar?
Who knows, Maybe Lion will be the final release in the Mac OS X line. We might be looking at the future operating system of Mac OS (XI) 11 after Lion. That would be what to look for.
This is so exciting. I have to admit that I didn't know if Apple was ever going to hold anymore Mac-only presentations. Sick of hearing that W7 is getting close to OS X (when it's not) which is why I'm hoping Apple will come out with a new slick UI to go along with the iOS products!

300dpi + screens
What I'm most hoping for is a new OS (obviously 10.7) and hardware line announcement that looks to high pixel density screens. The future has to be 300+ dpi screens like the iPhone 4, but on laptops and iMacs. Would be awesome for photography and text rendering. Fancy viewing a 12 Mp image on a 27" iMac at 100% pixel to pixel - would look awesome.
But then - I'm probably completely wrong.
